2009 Toyota iQ
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Toyota is getting ready to go up against the Smart. Here’s an official pic of the production version of the iQ (we showed you the iQ concept back in September), which should go into production later this year as a 2009 model. There aren’t any details on the powertrain or pricing, but we’ll know more when Toyota rolls it out at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Wow… they brought back the xA minus the rear seats. I like it and I’m really glad to see more competitors in Smart’s space. Nothing against smart, but choices are good!

I’d rather have an IQ over a Smart anyday. But, I agree with RetroMan… Toyota should have done a little bit better of a job naming it.

The production certainly looks better than the concept, which is quite rare in the design process of most cars. What’s with the names like Smart and IQ though? Nothin’ against em, I just thought Toyota would be a little more creative than to knock off Chrysler.
