Accord Coupe or Altima Coupe: Which Would You Choose?

Its sick as hell..its fast, luxurious and sporty. Honda needs a new idea. The screwed it a million times over and over to win over the altima but it didnt work out

Well in looks the Altima is a knock out. It has a sleek yet sexy appeal to it. The accord kinda looks like the sedan (like a box). The Altima is very sporty looking while the accord lost its sports look. The altima is 270 hp while the honda has 268 hp. The inside of the accord is soo nig it looks like a sedan, while the altima feels like a coupe right when you sit on it. Thus the honda feels so big and oversized making it feel like a trucks interior. And the Altima has a more aerodynamic appeal while the honda looks like a square. Also, if you want to hook up both cars, the altima WINS 100%. The altima looks sexy as hell with rims and tints. I mean the accord to but the altima has that extra luxurious feel and look to it, something the accord lacks. Honda=standard sports car Altima=sleek and luxurious sports car.

I’ve driven both. I test drove the V6 accord coupe twice when car shopping recently. However, I went home with the 3.5 SE Altima. It has better pick-up/acceleration, handling and it’s more fun to drive. i’m VERY happy with it.

The honda weighs MORE. I just bought an Altima coupe and I LOVE it!

They have both been reviewed and they are both good. The accord did manage to handle better. the altima if barely faster in the quarter mile. Look up accord coupe vs altima coupe on youtube to see the review.

My wife and I own a Honda, but I’d still have to go with the Altima coupe on this one. It has more svelte, cohesive lines, and looks more capable and nimble. The Accord has gone downhill in terms of design, if not performance, as far as I’m concerned. Both the coupe and sedan display very choppy and confused design profile and lines. Honda’s have great tuner history, but I’d much rather hook up this Altima over that Accord. -J

Datsun, ruled the “tuner” world for 30 or so years. I think the 510 was a bit more popular though. Now that I think of it, Fiat was right along side Datsun in the field of what would be a “tuner” car now. Hell the old Fiat x-19 bertone would still kick any honduh’s ass!

Jay your a dumbass Honda didn’t start tuner anything, have you ever heard of a Datsun 210 coupe. Datsun became Nissan later.

Carter, honda didn’t make ricers, stupid fucking kids who think that wings look good/have a purpose on a front wheel drive car did, A mustang/corvette/focus/sentra/ANYTHING can be rice, it’s alot about what you do to your car, I don’t see any civic’s that come out of the factory with neon’s and a big fucking useless wing, do you? And honda MADE the tuner industry. the fact that you can put any honda engine in any honda car, makes them the leader of tuning. you can put a fucking S2000 engine/drivetrain in a CRX. i’ve seen it done.

The “altime” that I saw at the Chicago Autoshow did not have hubcaps, so maybe that is just an option. Anywone else notice that Honda ripped off the front end of the older Skylines?

id take the accord cuz ive driven them for 5 years now and never had a single problem. plus the accord is more lexury and the altime comes with cloth seats and hub caps wtf lol thats gay and i dont like the whole thing where the g35, 35z, altima, and the new skyline they all look alike they need better ideas sorry but honda all the way

The Altima has had all kinds of problems and not to mention the fact that ANY Skyline/350Z/G35 owner would totally disagree that the Altima even resembles any of their cars and I don’t blame them…that would cheapin their cars…Honda all the way yo!

i already own a altima coupe n have no regrets for it at all, test drove both before i bought them n deffinatly love the sportier n more responsive ride of the altima than the accord (accord is still a good car)

admit that the altima coupe does a look a little like the 350z and a lot like the new g37 but whats the harm in that, looks great

however the accord’s front looks a lot like the front of tsx and tl as well

between the two. i would pick the altima. but im still waiting for an SE-R coup. then ill take it hands down. hondas day to shine is over. toyota offers the same quality with a better warranty for a lower price. and nissan has always had a good quality feel to me. i always liked the interiors. the new ones are only better than the old ones! lol im all down for the nissan, but the honda is still a cool car.

even though some people may disagree with the new styling of the accord, the fact of the matter is that Honda’s pedigree is more respectable than that of Nissan. The accord is an original car, whereas the Altime is just a cheap version of the g35. Honda’s acura divison looks completely different from its Honda lineup. Nissan just takes the same thing and rewraps it. Honda all the way.

i would pick accord, the whole tuner scene is based on turning any car into fast mean machine, sure the altima based is faster, but the accord has more aggresive body lines and the accord is unique the altima shares 350z and g35 charcteristics, basicaly a cheap g35. I am a german fan and unless your talking about th s2000 or the skyline, i am not a fan of of those cars but i have seen the new accord coupe and would get one if it was rear wheel drive

The Altima is more powerful, gets to peak horsepower way faster and is lighter by 200 lbs… its faster. But, lets face it you’ll get way more looks…and chicks with the ACCORD. It looks like a new age BMW or BENZ for fuck sake! the accord is still a fast car.. So GET ur mind right. Do the right thing and Go with honda.

Sorry lol but the poormans G35 just doesnt do it for me, plus im more of a honda fan, although the back is a little wierd on the new accords, ive sat in one an it was amazing, i didnt want to get out. So accord all the way.

The nissan is simply better looking. Its not a Honda. The only honda worth getting is a S2000. Nissans pretty much just kick ass. Personally almost all hondas piss me off. But its not as bad as a civic. But the altima would be the better choice.

I like both. I’m a DIE-HARD Honda lover, fucking love Honda. But I’m really starting to not like the new look that Honda and most other companies are coming out with.. I find that the nissan has a better look and a quicker engine. Don’t get me wrong, I still like the accord’s styling, but the altima still pulls away. I really hate the “concept” look of all the new cars. what happened to just clean styling and nice lines? instead of cars that look like mother fucking space ships. We aren’t driving on fucking pluto, give us real cars.

I personally would go with the honda. I have a feeling it would last a tad bit longer than the nissan. I don’t care for the altima all that much and like others arguments, I would just go buy the Z over the altima. I haven’t seen the new altima on the road but have seen several hondas and they pretty aggressive.

The Altima coupe is gorgeous. The new Accord coupe looks completely fugly and let’s not even get started with the sedan’s new looks. They both look retarded. They don’t even look like Hondas, they look like something out of Korea. Honda’s design team needs to be set on fire. Their redesigns look like garbage. Speaking on which, have any of you seen Acura’s redesigned RL or TL also? Not impressive either. The only Honda I’d even consider getting is the S2000. Nissan on the other hand, actually produces a sports car. Nissan has one of the best lineups out there. What does Honda offer? All they’ve got are 4 banger, FWD economy cars in which people try to make them fast and boring SUVs and a truck that can’t haul shit.

With some experience with F1? I don’t seen them winning any races. Let’s not begin listing Nissan’s victories in IMSA, Super GT, dominance in JTCC (which led to Group A touring car racing being destroyed because they were giving everyone a thrashing), and so on.

Honda my make better 4 bangers than Nissan, may sell more cars than Nissan, but at the end of the day, it means nothing if those cars are unattractive. All I’ll see in traffic is a wave of boring Hondas. who drives Hondas? Old people, tree huggers, a clueless kids who think they own a supercar. People obviously underestimate the engineering that goes on with both companies. A lot of people also don’t understand Honda’s marketing technique. Reason why Honda doesn’t put out AWD drivetrain is because they don’t need it! There’s no market on the Honda end that they know of to merit the need to put it out on the line.

Plus if your looking for performance/blah blah blah, why buy the altima when you can get a Z? The whole reason for the FWD drivetrain Coupe was a sporty feel for midaged working men who need something more practical.

As far as motors and reliability goes, might i remind you of Nissans chronic motor problems with their 2.5 litre motors which they won’t admit to.

For all of you saying Honda is above Nissan. Hondas technology is equivalent to a third graders. They have no idea what they are doing, but in awhile they will start to learn. By then they will have to sell only in Japan where ricer asians will put red and lime green rims on it to make it look cool when its the biggest piece of crap out.

It’s Tough i like Hondas and Nissans but I would go with the accord the Altima it looks like the 350Z and uses the same engine. Would prefer the 350Z anyway its RWD.

The dude that said the accord has no real consistency, I agree with him. Besides how do you get a boxy front end of the accord and then get a sloping rear end like a PT Cruiser =/, anyhow the Nissan overall has better looks, more Horsepower and will murder the oh so fuel efficent Accords.

I’d take the altima (poor man’s g35), it’s just clean. the accord has no consistency or tradition at all in its design, it’s like a random made-up car from a video game.

Since I am an altima owner and I looove the VQ then I obviously choose the altima coupe. I am just not a big fan of its front fascia. Does anyone else agree that the grill and headlights kind of make it look a bit odd?

personally im an avid honda hater(mainly because of srawny little asian kids buying a civic, cutting the springs to lower it, and sticking a huge muffler in the back and thinking they are driving a supercar) ive smoked too many civic owners in my mazda, and even more in my dodge ram!!! besides the altima is faster!! so i would chose ALTIMA!!

I would have go with the Accord. I don’t like the rear of the altima. It is almost like the rear of the 350Z, but changed in a different way.

I take the Accord I get more bang for my buck. After trying to get all the options on the Altima that I had on the Accord the price comes dangereously close to 350Z. And of course the Accord doesnt look like a pontiac G6. So Obviously Accord all the way.

personally im a huge honda fan. the gtr just brought me to the nissan side. i love infiniti but honda and acura are my first choice. so obviously i have to go with the accord. i think the accord is b.a. the altima is too much like the 350 z. great performer but it doesnt do it for me. i think the accord is more stylish. it caught me off guard with the direction they took the look but when i saw it in person it blew me away.

In reality, I wouldn’t want a FWD car, but if I was given the chocie of having one or the other, I’d prefer the Honda. I dont really like the look of the rear-end on the altima.
