The Awesomest Aztek Ive Ever Seen
By Dan
Hemmings Motor News
I know Rob’s sick of all the Aztek hatin’, but I can’t help but hate it. It’s ugly any which way you slice it. On the other hand, this Aztek I spotted on a recent visit to GM’s Heritage Center actually looked, well, decent. I couldn’t get a straight answer as to why GM built it, but the lowered stance, the huge chrome five-spokes, the wide-ass fender flares and the boy-racer interior (complete with roll cage and manual trans shifter sticking up between the buckets) makes me think SEMA. However, the utter lack of any plastic cladding, roof rack or anything else not necessary for go is what I really like about it. Now why didn’t they build ‘em like this in the first place?

When a mini is tricked out, there’s a chance of me liking it. I’m sorry though. The Aztek is jut too far gone for me to like.

Any more pics of this thing? I can’t seem to find them.

Yeah, that’s the one with the C5R race motor in it. THATS what the Aztek should have been.

I believe that’s the one with the Corvette motor and whatnot in it. They only built one, and for only one reason. Because they can.

A ‘tek with fender flares kinda looks like a dodge nitro or a tricked out Jeep. That is to say “if my expectations weren’t so low, I’d think that was really ugly”. As it stands, it’s better looking than other Azteks – for whatever that’s worth.
