Update: Rinspeed Posts sQuba Video, Images to Show They’re Serious

The mad geniuses at Rinspeed are either really handy with the GCI, or they’re seriously bringing a functional diving car to the Geneva Motor Show. In any case, their site has been restocked with a hilarious video and a lot of more detailed pictures that depict a well-dressed couple supposedly putting the Lotus-bodied submarine-car through its paces. And yes, as some of you complained the other day, the sQuba is in fact a convertible. Which means you have to wear diving gear to drive it. Don’t forget your tuxedo! See more astonishing pics after the jump, and the full gallery at Left Lane News.

I would hate to have to roll up the driver’s window in a hurry with that throttle right there :/
Is that carpet I see?
If it goes in sea water How long before it starts to rust and corrode?
How would the tires stand up against Corral?

It’d make more sense ( yea sense ) to have it sealed up like the 007 one so that you wouldn’t have to wear the scuba gear.

A simple case of more dollars than sense.

Light car: CHECK

Ability to drive(on land): CHECK
Abiliy to float: CHECK?
Ability to go underwater: CHECK?

Cars arent meant to go under water. They have WHEELS for the ROAD for a reason. lmao.

Why didn’t they just pump that money into an advertising budget instead?
-
Sure, they’ll be getting free publicity, but it will be for a car that nobody has any use for. They had to R&D this thing, etc, but there’s no market.
-
The free publicity they get will be like buying a 747 just to get the free peanuts.

Wow, just imagine all the rust on the suspension and brake components… And i’ll buy one when they release the hard-top convertible so i don’t have to be a licensed scuba diver ;)

COMPLETELY POINTLESS: check

My hats off to the guys at Rinspeed that built this thing, it looks awesome inside and out and it works. I doubt that video was CGI, otherwise they should be making movies instead of cars. But the only thing is, what do you use it for?
