Got back recently from eight days of elk and mule deer hunting along the Continental Divide in Colorado. I had my 2007 JK and my buddy had his 2009 JK. We easily covered ground WAY ABOVE timberline on snow covered logging roads up to 12,500 feet. Saw some old CJs up there too! Not a single Toyota sighting during eight days of off-roading.

I've had my JK for three years (70,000 miles) and it is more reliable in the backcountry than my previous 4x4s (Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier). The Nissan was a great little truck. The Taco only had one recall but it was tiny in the cabin, and I think the rear limited slip differential did not work. Frankly, the FJ has even less going for it. What kind of company makes an "off-road" vehicle with crappy driver visibility and metrosexual styling. Sorry, but there is a reason you don't see FJs in the Colorado backcountry.

Sorry to say this to all you jeep lovers but I was recently up in the woods here in Colorado on a 4x4 camping trip with five jeep rubi's and my FJ. Before we started everyone was asking me if my girlfriend was ok with me taking her car through the woods. After we got up the mountain there were coming up to me asking how much the FJ was going for and they just about shit them self's when they found out it was stock. The jeep is a good rig but no stock jeep would have been doing what my FJ was, some of the rubi's were having problems doing what my FJ was. With that being said just no if I ever see you and your jeep stuck out in the woods I will be more then happy to pull you out with my FJ!!!

I seriously don't understand the arguments here. The Wrangler and the FJ are both great vehicles but shouldn't be compared to one another. I will agree that off-road capabilities are similar with each one having an edge in different areas, but they are totally different vehicles. Sure the safety of the FJ is superior, but isn't it fun to take off the doors, top and lay the windshield down in the summer? Isn't it also nice to have the availablity of 4 doors and a vehicle without a huge blind spot. One can speak of quality all they want, please tell me how the LIFETIME WARRANTY works on the FJ. I sell Jeep Wranglers and own a 2009 Rubicon Unlimited. Having said that, I've never had a Wrangler buyer shop an FJ and my good friend next door at the Toyota store will say the same about his FJ. They are NOT comparable vehicles so quit comparing them. All the trash talk from both sides is a bit ridiculous as well.

I've had nothing but Jeeps since the day I started driving and I LOVE them.. probably always will. I may be biased coming from a Jeep family, but I've never had any real complaints to this day. My most recent purchase is a black 2007 Wrangler Sahara 2dr and it is my favorite by far! I've taken it off road a few times now (mainly through mud and water), and only got stuck once. My close friend has a 2007 FJ and we bicker all the time about whose is better. He has a blue shirt that matches his smurf blue FJ (lame) that says "F**K Jeep" and he somehow manages to wear it everytime he's around me, but we've both acknowledged that each has their own particular benefits and cannot truly be compared to one another.

Ok you guys, Wranglers are cute, but lets face it, Toyota tops it! Why you ask? This vehicle is SAFE! and you and go off roading if you want too. I rather be in a FJ than a thin tin job any day! Toyota does make a great product! This page is supposed to be about the vehicles not American loyalty. If the American automakers want me to buy their vehicle then they better come down on price for what they produce. I used to own a Ford F-150. Never buy one again. It was not even a year old and little things like the seals started to leak.

I'm really confused about crapyota drivers who brag how their cars are better than anything else . No correct me if i'm wrong but, wasn't the fake jeep just a rip off of a jeep like the nissan patrol ? didnit crapyota just announced no more fake jeeps come 2009 which in turn is nearly an exact rip off jeeps willy concept ? Again another fake jeep when will you crapyota drivers understand the meaning to " only one JEEP " dumbasses ! Like you're f@#king ugly ramdra [tundra] piece of sh#t ! And it's funny how little idiots like you put down jeeps but yet drive a cheap look alike , now quit crying little bitchies and go dry you're tears . ...oh I almost forgot didnit crapyota have more recalls in 2008 compared to anyone else and wasn't it JEEP who out sold you're 4x4 and everyone included . 1 more thing before I leave who has the most awards jeeps or crapyota f.ake j.eep throughout the years and who never stopped production and still going strong . Also the longest lasting 4x4 ever and don't get me started on land rover not bad 4x4's but tons of issues even worse than jeep , plus didnit the guy use jeep parts for his first land rover ? I guess he couldn't afford a real JEEP like crapyota drivers so he made a immatation . FACE LOSERS JEEPS WILL ALWAYS RULE WHILE OTHERS DROOL!

Hey, we all know that the FJ Cruiser is a great vehicle. I can say the same for Jeeps also. I have no real bias here. I own two cars, a Nissan Maxima with 168,000 miles on it that runs like new and a Jeep Grand Cherokee with 148,000 that also runs like new. I've had American cars that broke down a lot and I also owned a Toyota Camry that broke down a lot. When given a choice I'll buy American, or at least a car built in America, but I buy the MODEL more than the BRAND. Every automaker is capable of building a lemon---the Nissan Armada's brakes are notorious for wearing out pads---and every automaker can build a peach like the Chrysler 300C, an awesome car for the price tag. Bottom line, do what works for you. In today's economy it's every man for himself.

Lets all remember that Ford is the pioneer of the automotive industry. Personally i am not a Ford fan, but the point being made is that it is an american company producing american vehicles. Where is your pride of being an american here? Go ahead and buy a foreign vehicle and help support all those other countries that won't help us back. It is historically known that jeeps have been around longer than the FJ. Were they driving toyotas during WWII? hhmmmmmm, i don't believe so. Jeep has a reputation to uphold, and a good one at that. And so far they have produced great wranglers, in my eyes. Hey thumbs up to all you jeep bashers, go ahead and burn the american flag while your at it. This is why our country is going down the crapper. Because everyone wants a better deal. FJ's are probably cheaper than wranglers, but remember that saying "you get what you pay for".

so damn many idiots.

if you are thinking willy in the 40s were good, and therefore new wrangler is good, you need to go back to college and learn some critical thinking.

i don't know about off road capabilities.. but it has been shown that toyota has consistently better quality than any other american made cars. (and this has nothing to do with american car workers, as alot of the foreign brands are made in US by American workers. what's left? American managers..)

in fact, now that GM and Ford and in deep shit. you can all thank you stupid selves for not making those car companies think twice about keep producing pieces of crap before its too late to steer the ship into a different direction.

buying 'american' made american car companies to keep producing pieces of shit.. in the end, there is no coming back... from it.

Toyota quality is just dismal. Owners try to compensate by claiming superior quality but really - just look at them. Closely.

The Fake Jeep is a real Jeep wanna be.

They can only immitate. Poorly. You want to waste your money ... but a Fake Jeep. LOL

There are a lot of cheaply made immitations out there. Even some very expensive ones. You want to pay a lot for a boat ride here - then the shipping lines will gladly take your money.
You want to pay foreigners to put a lesser quality vehicle in your driveway ... then broadcast your ignorance to your neighbours.

I wouldn't have a Toyota or Datsun sitting in my driveway. How embarrasing.
