Cute Product Alert: Drive Around With Your Home

The idea of living out of your vehicle has gotten a pretty bad rep over the years, and Martin House-To-Go is hoping to turn that around. Marketed as a glorified camper, a complete vacation home that you can tow anywhere, the "Fresh Start" mini-house also has an implied function as an emergency home for disaster victims, as Born Rich points out. It’s kind of a nice idea: as the hurricane blows in or the floodwaters rise, just hitch up your extra house to your truck and head for the hills. You come back to a demolished dwelling, sure, but in the meantime you have an extra set of luxurious digs to hang out in until FEMA gets its act together. The tiny-portable-house trend has gained traction in recent years, exemplified by companies like Tumblweed Houses—but this is the first instance I’ve seen of miniature houses purposefully designed to be rugged enough for continuous vehicle travel.
