admire the effort,i mean you have to, but the results.....well thats another matter.the question is why? i mean the big healeys were beautiful cars, on a par with the e-type and if you wanted straight line grunt yes you had cobras, or hemi cudas, or shelby mustangs etc. designed for the job and im sorry retro man, but the shelby cobra killed more people than cancer when it debuted in britain because it just couldnt handle corners because of all that rear end power coupled with 1960's brakes and handling. twisted chassis were common.. it got so bad, it became a pr disaster so the AC car company even made new owners take a racing drivers week long course so they could handle the beast. newer replicas still have the power, but the shocks and braking have been SERIOUSLY uprated. i love em. i drive a 4.0l yank straight 6 myself but i also have a '72 midget. they're chalk and cheese. one is for the cruise and one is for the corners, this is neither. sorry, but as a feat of engineering, its excellent.

Hey Brit, did you forget what a force the Shelby Cobra was/is to reckon with in both 289 and 427 form? Reproduction Cobras are the most popular kit cars on the market and I've seen alot of versions, from period correct to 5.4L supercharged. You should know the Cobra is still one of the fastest roadsters ever produced with 0-100-0 in just a little over 12 sec and , oh yeah, it raced road courses back in the day. I'd like to see a stock AC, MG, or Healey pull that off!!!

How heinous, way to ruin an otherwise beautiful Healey. Americans just don't bloody get it, do they? Play with your fast-in-a-straight-line, cant't-turn-corners-for-sod musclecars and leave our classic corner-carvers alone. And honestly, "Old Blue?" Can you get any more redneck?
