Project Fireblade

By David

aka Highspeedhijinks

There’s not much information on this independent concept rendering except for one key item: it’s called the "Fireblade." Designed by Idries Noah, the Fireblade uses the Corvette Stingray and the Shelby Daytona for inspiration, and manages to nail the best traits of both. To me the styling cues, the name, and the menacing stance all scream one thing: Firebird! We’ve all been pleading for a Trans-Am comeback, but how about this: a Pontiac-badged muscle car with Corvette brawn. Whereas the new Firebird could share the Camaro chassis, the "Firebalde" could share the Corvette’s. The rendering’s 6.1 liter V8 suggests Mopar power—but how about a GM LS7? In a time when gas prices are soaring and auto manufacturers are striving to outdo each other in the smallness of their cars, something like the Fireblade seems like a bit of a pipe dream. But dreaming is good. See more views at Serious Wheels.

sorry, I dare not dream. GM is far too lame to make anything like this. I just don’t kid myself anymore. What’s the point?
