Corvette Could Be Kentucky's Official State Car. What's Yours?

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Kentucky state Representative C.B. Embry Jr. has introduced a bill that would make Corvette the official state car, in honor of Chevrolet’s Corvette plant in Bowling Green. However, he’s been frustrated for the last two months by the stalling of the bill, which the legislative committee has left simmering on the back burner in favor of "more pressing issues." Hey, what do they think the citizens of Kentucky are paying them for, anyway?

What state do you live in, and what do you think your official state car should be?

I have to agree with Alex on this one, probably an Escalade they’re all over the place, and now the Charger’s are popping up like crazy I can’t leave my house without seeing at least 3-4 of them. Problem is the weather sucks and we’re getting pot holes that even some trucks can’t handle.

Ohio, home of Ford’s Cleveland engine assembly plant. I can see a 1971 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland bucking and growling now. On the more contemporary side I believe the current 4.6 and 5.4s are built there.

I really think that the Corvette should be Michigans State car. The Corvette afterall was first produced in Flint, MI. It only seems fair to give it to Michigan, because if it weren’t for the great minds at the Motor City back in the 50′s, then their wouldn’t be a Corvette today.

Detroit and we would have to have the F150 or the Escalade for our state vehicle. Those are the only two that reliably survive our roads!

For Washington it’d have to be a big jacked-up late 70s GMC pickup. At least out here in the sticks. If you Seattle ppl had your way our state car would be a Prius or an OUtback, lol.

Its cool to see that the Corvette could be Kentucky’s state car. I’m not really sure what I would choose to represent Wisconsin. Maybe the Ford F-Series(truck). The F-Series is a big truck that many farmers drive daily, and Wisconsin is known for farming. Also, the truck is strong and dependable; traits that could be used to describe Wisconsin’s citizens. The Ford F-Series has been around for what seems like an eternity, and without it, Ford might not be here. Wisconsin has been around for quite awhile, and without Wisconsin, the United States would fall apart(at least thats what we like to think).
