What Did You Do This Weekend?

I went to the junkyard with JohnI got a hatch latch for my Escort GT and a headlight frame for my diesel Escort, and he picked up an alternator for his Jag. Also, I found out that I’m not allowed to work on my cars in my condo garagea busybody put a note to that effect on my Escort’s valve cover after I’d left it to drip during its oil change. I’ll have to do my wrenching on the sly from now onor do it in the CarDomain garage, where I haven’t yet been caught wrenching on my other two cars.

CondoNazis are among my top ten peeves, right up there with left-lane hoggers and states that don’t let you pump your own gas.

Too bad there isn’t a car-sized pop-up mechanics’ tent on the market, with “mind your own damn business” or anything else you want emblazoned on the side, with an oil-resistant and durable, easy-clean floor.

Me, well this weekend I wanted to do more to the Firebird, but the back yard living space, specifically constructing a new Gazebo took precedent. I was hoping Sunday would be OK for car stuff but it wasn’t so I’m taking off Tuesday since it’s my birthday (yet again). Might as well get past the depression by doing what I wanted to do Saturday and make my paintshop mods reality. I’m stoked…
