Ford is Kickin' Ass and Takin' Names!
By Mike Musto
AKA Mr. Angry
So, here we are at the New York International Auto Show and I can say that right from the get go the manufacturers have gone hog wild with their exhibits. Seriously, they’ve pulled out all the stops for this one. Ford is here in full force with some pretty hairy stuff. The Shelby 500KR is a wicked little bastard of a Mustang, as is the new Bullitt.
One thing that is apparent right from the beginning and something that I am thoroughly impressed with is Ford’s overwhelming committment to safety. Their F-150 Lariat cutaway was especially impressive, from the funky safety features like the Gyroscopic Rate Sensor that helps control body roll and yaw, to new B-pillars that are made of ultra-high-strength Barron steel. Two more pics after the jump.

Well, while Ford is kicking ass and taking names, my neighbor is counting transmission replacements on his $40k F350 Diesel. For that price a pickup should be a helluva lot better than his turned out to be. Hell, it’s only about a year old. It never even seen plow duty, unlike one of his other pickups, a Chevy that gets 100k miles per transmission. Considering that truck pushes acres of snow every winter, that’s not nearly as bad.
