V6 Challenger to be Priced in the Low 20s
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The big news at the Challenger unveil today was the low price of the base 250 hp V6 SE trim car–"low twenties," according to Jim Press. "The price is lower than the gas mileage." Nice work Chrysler. I crawled around it a bit and it does have a usable back seat. Really nice car, and I’m pleased to report the proportions look right in person. More pics after the jump.

My ‘85 cressida will eat any V6 Detroit builds, those charger V6’s daughter had one until all she saw was my taillights about a quarter mile down the road and you say the mustang V6 is fast okay so you say, but my experience racing them says something different. I am sorry folks the Japanese is kickin the USA right in the nuts when it comes to performance and good looking vehicles, not to mention that they are years ahead of the Big Three.

Sorry, Rob, the SE is slower than any Mustang v6 built since 2001! Let’s line ‘em up!

Oh, I won’t be afraid of the Challenger 3.5L, it’s still a porker, will weigh about the same as the 3.5L Charger, which I already eat for lunch.
Unlike the Ford v6s, electronic nannies won’t let you mod the dodge boy v6s. So you’re either gonna have to swap in a Prowler engine & comp and mod away, or see my taillights.

This is my 38th yrs coming to the Int Auto Show, the first show in 1970 when I was 9 yrs old i remember a lot of Muscle car and my favorite is Dodge Challengers I even remember a brand new model Plymouth Duster Demon on the turntable with women beehive hair due hot pant and boot the car is yellow. Now on Easter sunday i came to see the Challengers my favorite color blue that one i would use as a daily driver V6 SE I’ll bet V6 Challenger will outrun V6 mustang. As for Hemi R/T I hope they have Limited Edition “Vanishing Point” White Challenger,I have 03 Red T-bird that I would trade in the flash.

its a nice design and car……but dammit the new charger shoulda had some design like this and not some crappy 4 door machine it is now! a 250hp V6 is a good option if you want the style without clearing your pockets totally dry.

Glad to see they’re making an affordable Challenger. After all, they couldn’t have built Hemi and 6 PAK Challengers if they didn’t build 318 and slant six Challengers. The blue looks great too.
