Can Car on eBay
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
While no promotional vehicle quite matches the Muffler Hut in sheer idiotic awesomeness, this can car on eBay is apparently pretty appealing as a rolling billboard as well—bidding’s up to $1425, with two days to go. It’s based on a ‘79 Karmann Ghia chassis, and the seller warns that it’s neither highway-safe nor likely to be legal in your state, so buyer beware. It’s also yet to be painted up with any particular sponsor, though the seller considerately offers a series of hilarious photoshops of the can car decked out in various corporate schemes. I like the Duracell battery.

Hi Jen – Thanks for mentioning the Muffler Hut car!
We purchased Quality Muffler Hut in September of 2007 and drive the car as weather permits – if you ever want a ride, just give us a call!

Well whoever gets it might wanna gussy up the cabin, maybe improve the windshield and do something with the lights and stuff on the front end. Fenders, as long as they’re kept pretty subtle, could make the look more finished and appealing.

The core is there and it’s not that bad, but it needs dressing up.

I’ve seen worse. I imagine with a little finish work and a nice corporate paint job it should look allright, although the can would have to be an elongated one. I think Arizona Ice Tea would be a good match.
