This Just In: New on the Net

Most of the time, I try to keep everything in this blog strictly car-related. But when I saw that CBGBs is now a fancy clothing boutique, I totally lost it. Why that place wasn’t declared a landmark 20 years ago is completely beyond me, and the fact that it now houses a place which sells $100 pairs of Converse makes me want to throw up. Anyway, here’s the news:

  • Nissan dealers in Great Britain already have 700 orders for the new GTR, and they’re obviously stoked. But given that total production is only 1000 units per month, customers wanting to get their hands on one of the supercars will probably be waiting a while. World Car Fans
  • Dogs are one of greatest things ever, and anyone who mistreats one is simply awful. But I still think the folks who complained about this VW ad were overreacting. Do they really think this dog is being abused? Winding Road
  • Much is being made about the fact that smart’s fortwo got a less than stellar safety rating, but I think it’s crap. Seriously, any new car sold in the United States is pretty damn safe. And if the majority of cars every cars being tested get a five out of five rating, I think that says a lot more about the test than the cars. AutoWeek

I’m sorry, but that article about the VW ad is ludicrous. Now abusing your dog is wrong, but isn’t a dog supposed to fear its owner, at least somewhat? i mean if it didnt it wouldn’t listen. Maybe i’m confusing fear and respect. Hell, what do I know. It’s still crazy though. And that’s my ramble for the day.=)

I don’t think there is anything wrong with that ad at all. Infact it kind of makes you laugh…
