Officials in Cali Abuse Special Plates

By John Coyle

Editor

In California, police officers and other civil servants can get confidential license plates, presumably so criminals can’t use their plate numbers to track down where they live. On the surface, that makes sense. But as it turns out, these plates also make the folks who have them immune to parking violations, tolls and speed cameras. Pretty cool, huh? Imagine never paying another parking ticket! Orange County Register via BoingBoing.

Heere’s a common-sense idea:
-
Issue Police tags to replace cops’ private tags. This way, when they blow through a toll booth or become scofflaws, their EMPLOYER knows what they’re doing IMMEDIATELY.
-
Then again… sorry. I just applied common sense to Government. Of course the two make oil and water look like cake mix.

Haha, I love it. They can make the laws so apparently it’s ok for only them to break ‘em and get away without punishment. If I do it I get a $101+ fine, have to go to court, and most likely pay higher premiums for insurance…. dont you love how that works out.
