"If Godzilla Built An Isuzu…"

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Things aren’t always bigger in Texas, but sometimes they have a lot more wheels. This 8-wheeler Isuzu minitruck, commissioned by Steve Francis as a promo vehicle for his detailing shop in Montgomery, TX, is being featured over at TruckinWeb. It’s been body-dropped and air-bagged, and the frame had to be custom-narrowed to accommodate three axles worth of 18" wheels in the rear. Powering the six rear wheels is a Chevy small block. See more pics below the jump!

A 12 foot bed that never has to be made sounds like an awesome idea and this thing just looks awesome posing as “the limousine of lowrider pick up trucks”. Must haul alot of groceries. So what if it’s missing engine accessories? It’s still cool. Besides accessories can be added in a couple hours anyway. I’m just curious if he’s going to add rear wheel steering to help turn that tri-axle beast around a little quicker.

Nick

Well, this thing is pretty cool, but wouldn’t you say the engine is missing a few things? I mean, the distributer isn’t even wired in, there are open coolan ports in the intake, and not to mention its lack of a balancer and maybe a fuel line? This is neat but don’t you think it should at least look functional before it goes in a magizine?

Truckin just did a feature on this truck. Its pretty sweet. Go to the newsstand and look at the pics and read the article. Look for the Truckin with the green chevy kodiak on the front with the tahoe headlights.

I wonder if it actually powers all 6 rear wheels, or just the 2 furthest back.

justin
Apr 13, 2008 at 3:18 am

I personally would not do anything like that to a truck, But its is something definitively different which i like. I like unique vehicles and this is pretty rad.

i wanna see a burnout :]

GTwildfire
Apr 13, 2008 at 1:55 am

Oh, and this is pure speculation, but the front bumper might have been mounted in a way that allows it to “float” a little when the truck is lowered, so one end or the other won’t get bent on non-level ground???? Seems like a logical mod to me.

GTwildfire
Apr 13, 2008 at 1:52 am

I’m all-for unique. Gimme a ride that looks like everyone else’s and it won’t for long.
-
Is there an “overboard”, well yeah and this truck definitely went there, but fot what it is it’s pretty awesome in its own, very unique way.
-
For all those who think it’s a waste, well it’s really not. It’s not like it’ll see a lot of miles anymore. It’s a showpiece.
-
Oh and for that one, nature boy who says we don’t need cars as well… I think you need a CT scan to see just how much brain damage you got.

I wasn’t trying to make fun of Canada as a country I have been there it is nice. I was referring to that fuckin car up there in Toronto that all the car hating hippies signed. And if you are going to tell me to shut the fuck up at least have the balls to put your name on your post.

“Oh here we go another car hater. Hey listen why don’t you just go up to Canada so you can sign your name on that stupid petition car and quit trashing on peoples rides. I guess you are jealous because you have to bike everywhere on some piece of junk bike you bought from a yard sale. Cars don’t suck, only self righteous haters like you suck.” I am Canadian and I love cars and I think you should shut the fuck up because there are tons of people here that love cars. Its people like you that make me hate americans.

Pretty rad! I think it’s cool but the wheels should all be swapped for 20inches, it looks like there would be enough room.

Apr 12, 2008 at 6:43 am

Good try, but the front facsia needs a little more customization, it probably would’ve looked better with an all american truck: f150, ranger, or even a ram, but not an isuzu.

Mustswang
Apr 12, 2008 at 5:07 am

Even though it probably doesnt get driven much, I bet it cant turn for shit or the tires would scrub like a motherfucker. Cool idea, but useless, ugly and the bumper is fucked up and doesnt line up with the widened fenders. eh

You know the thing that I like the least (and it has nothing to do with wheels) the bed is to smooth. Theres no lines to this truck after the cab. With the bed totally boxed and painted you couldn’t even put a bike in the back. It would make and awesome motorcycle hawler, you could put them in a row. It would look hot too if the bikes were paint to patch too. Oh well
