Frontier vs. Tacoma: Which Would You Choose?

I own a Taco and am on the way to gettin another. both are nice, but in my experience the taco is easier to work on and modify

nissan frontier all the way, i want a real truck not a little tinker play toy, i have an 04 frontier (gen 1) and LOVE it, i’ll get another frontier in a heartbeat.

Tacoma hands down. Better retail value and WAY better looking truck. Ya I do agree with the person who said there are more Tacomas on the road than Frontiers, but there’s a reason for that. You get what you pay for in a Tacoma. I am not dissing the Frontier tho, they are cool looking “small” trucks too. But I think the new Tacomas (quad cab) are the NICEST looking trucks ever built.

i own a 07 frontier and i love it its the se crewcab and it has wasy more power and torque than the the taco my friend owns a 07 taco crew cab v6 and we raced and the nissan won hands down i was over 6 car lanks ahead of him the whole time so all you haters can just eat shit and die nissan all the way and they look way better

I resently purchased a 2008 Doublecab Tacoma 4×4 TRD w/ Rugged Trail package and I absolutely love it. It handles extremely well and is very nice looking. Many people have complained about the driver’s seat being too low and not having good visibility. I’m 5′7″ and have no problems with visibility whatsoever.

Just came home with another Frontier. My 95 truck is still going strong and my 2000 Altima has never had a problem. I’ve had Toyota’s too. Both are nice but love the Frontier.

both are good trucks but both are overpriced for there size and ability..if i had to choose id get the tacoma.. but if i used a truck as a truck.. like i do.. id get a silverado, f150 or ram.. tundra w/5.7 engine doesnt have the reliability you need longterm.. these will do the job of hauling, pulling, or comfortable driving better.. along with about the same fuel economy and better safety.. if you need to go offroad then the z71, fx4, or trx4 ram.. or powerwagon for that matter.. if ur a hardcore offroader.. get a jeep.. solid axle, incredible ground clearance, and will bring you home.. if u have to drive a toyota then the fj is a good choice.. not an ifs guy though.. sorry for ramblin on guys..

Eric, that is garbage. there is no way in 18 years you are going to put three and a half million miles on any automobile. You would need to drive over 150000 ,iles a year.

THE FRONTIER IS WAY BETTER THEN SOME SLOPPY TACO.I owned a taco before and that piece of poop spent more time at the dealer. after they took it back because it was a lemon. I bought a nissan 4 banger truck and 326,xxx miles the thing still runs strong with no prob.NISMO FOR LIFE

both of them trucks suck. ford ranger beats both of them hands down better

after watching the Top Gear segment on the toyota tacoma, i dont think i would take any other.

For the record the first Eric on here is not me so dont assume that I would say neither, cause in fact my family owns a 2005 long bed quad cab toyota TACOMA. I love the truck for what it is and would never get a NISSAN truck, although I used to own a MAXIMA and loved it, I dislike NISSAN trucks mostly cause toyota does know how to build a simple but reliable truck even if you dont want to admit it! and thats facts people, we had a 1990 toyota truck and put 3500000 on its little motor, and then sold it to someone else so i dont want to hear anything else LOL!

Nissan Frontier, although the Taco is a great truck. Those who say “because of Toyota’s dependability” are making themselves look dumb. No doubt Toyota quality is top-shelf, but so is Nissan’s quality. My old hardbody takes more punishment than I have ever seen, and she doesn’t complain at all. My point is, if quality was the main factor, there would be a tie.

First of all, they’re not compact trucks anymore, they’ve moved up to the mid-size category. But I would take the Nismo Frontier definitely!!! Bad ass truck, sporty looking, what more could a guy want!?!?!

I like the Tacoma much better. I dont like the Frontier very much…but if there were a Titan i would take that!

I PREFER THE TACOMA. WE HAVE HAD 5 OF THE SMALLER TOYOTAS AND STILL HAVE 2 AND LOVE THEM 100%. PREFORMANCE, RELIABLE, LOOKS, COMFORT, YOU NAME IT. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!

Going to have to go with the Frontier, the Tacomas are nice, just not my style…what I want is the mitsubishi raider, I love there design

personally, i think there are more aftermarket options for the taco, but i am loyal to the build quality of nissans, and it looks closer to an f-150, THE TOUGHEST TRUCK IN AMERICA!

I’ll take a frontier that is one tuff truck its compact yet it has the frame of its bigger brother the titan.

Frontier all the way, no other way to go. My ‘99 is doing great at 9 years old and still looks and works like it’s brand new.
