Spoiler Alert: The Fast and the Furious 4 Official Title, Plot, Release Date
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
The latest word is that the newest FF installment will be simply called Fast and Furiousfilmmakers apparently decided that fans could handle neither complex numerology nor the repetition of the word "the." The film is slated for release on June 5th, 2009, and as for content, the plot summary released by Universal corroborates certain previously leaked details, but doesn’t tell us a lot we don’t already know. Quoted in Cinematical, this is the extent of it:
"When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O’Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him."
The most comprehensive plot summary online is the still the unofficial one on Latino Review, and even it only covers the film’s initial setup. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordanna Brewster, and Michelle Rodriguez are all returning, though Letty (Rodriguez) gets killed off early by drug dealers (hence the funeral scene a CarDomain member supplied to you previously), catalyzing the action by forcing Diesel and Walker’s characters to collaborate to avenge her death. Even Tokyo Drift’s Han, who’s supposed to be dead, will be making an appearance, suggesting that Fast and Furious is to be a prequel to Tokyo Drift (and accounting for Diesel’s otherwise inexplicable appearance at the end of the last film).
But enough of all thatwe all know that plot is hardly the point of these films anyway. Here’s some more pics of cars on the set of the film, via VWVortexincluding some closeups of the studio-owned E36 that another member filmed spinning donuts, before it crashed into a bunch of the other cars.

I’m Really sick and freakin’ tired of hearing everyone bitch “Ricers and better”…”No American Muscle is Better”. Quit Fucking complaining and put you damn money where your fuckin mouth is and just duke it out at tbhe track. I live in virginia and at the local racetrack every wed. night they have run what you brung night, and ive seen plenty of ricers and meat-sicles kick ass. So when it comes down to it, the ones on top are the ones who devoted EVERYTHING to their rides. I have a 90′ CRX with 525 HP, and a 84′ Camaro with 807 HP and they both aren’t the best looking things out there, but if I get my ass kicked in a race, i pay up and shut up. So All of ya quit your fucking crying like little trash talking bitches, and fucking knuckle up to the bar. Peace Bitches

wow i never new people could b so simple minded bout cars lol ive had my fair share of them n im only 20 people are eithe dissing the muscle cars with the big v8 or the lil jap cars with their tiny 4 cylinders. in my eyes theyr both great they got their own qualities the imports r tougher then hell i had a 91 tercel i hit a three going 170km th radiator snapped rioght off the body the motor mounts were twisted to shit as well as the car n i drove her about 75klicks to the scrap yard n she didnt quite WITHOUT A RADIATOR the old american muscle never would have lasted 20klicks. but ive also had a couple of old chevs like my old sierra with a 305 in her she was gear for pulling n i could still burn the tires off her i think we need the japs to come out with a v8 so they have the resistance like their 4s n the power like th chevy v8 without any mods

To all the “muscle heads” dont expect muscle cars in the ff movie, if they have them, they have them, come on we had Gone in 60 Seconds. I drive a 2006 Ronaele 600+hp my wife drives the new 300hp Lexus IS. Im not going to hate on the foriegn cars they can be built to the fullest and handle alot.

You american muscle fans are so ignorant. Its easy to make fun of a honda civic… but majority of “american muscle” can get blown away by evo’s supra’s skyline’s n the list goes on.Boost is where its at. Its bout engineering and the rest of the world knows, which is why americans are the poorest selling vehicles on the planet. They are pure garbage and will continue to be. LoL The new skyline GTR will be a smack in the face to import haters.

you know what im sick and tired of reading these ignorant ass muscle heads always bashing tuners excuse us if we dont want to look like every stock mustang or camaro or trans am sorry we decide to customize our tuners to stand out not everyone has the same taste as you i’ve had my share of cars from a 1960 gmc apache pickup with a 383 v8 to my current ride a 97 toyota supra tt which is my 13th vehicle i’ve had and if i’ve learned anything is that we all share the same passion for cars wether its muscle, tuner, lowrider, hotrod, etc you muscle heads need to be more open minded and quit thinking ur the only hot things out there cuz my supra has smoked cars from all avenues and very few have beaten me in that car so stop hating things you dont like cuz at the end of the day i smoke v8s an still have a full tank of gas and i dont throw it in their face and lets be real when these movies come out ur the first in line to watch it so stop the BS already and if you have a problem with these facts then deal with it on ur own you dont hear tuners bashing you so have the same respect we show you cuz we all know ur faster we aint dumb but thats why we put so much effort in our cars to be able to match our 4 or 6 cylinder cars against “big bad v8s” so chill out already

I really like the FF series. But, where in the world are all the muscle cars? I like the cool tricked out cars with the bright colors and the ridiculous rims. Its neat. But isn’t racing about power? I’ll watch it just to see the cars, but I’m not all that interested in ricers. Toss in a hand full of American muscle like an old dodge charger, or a sick ford mustang, or a trans am, or even an ’57 Chevy bel-air. Fast and the Furious needs to flex some true, real American muscle. I personally would like to see that. I’m not dissing the show, but come on.

and also, being a Z owner, i kno that the “Look” of the car doesnt cost that much to “do up”, the tails and 3rd brake light alone are only about $500…and this movie dumps way more than that just for advertisment…i feel sorry for that Z and really hope that they dont embarass it in the movie cause all the car in the movies have potential, its just the way they are biult and portrayed in these kind of movies…

Apr 21, 2008 at 6:20 am
wow, a Z thats supposted to be the BEST OF THE BEST, and yet it dosnt even had JDM tail lights… this movie is is starting to get a little retarted…and disapointing…i mean if your gunna have good cars, have the best JDM look you can get for the car…otherwise dont rice it out with decals no1 would ever rock on their DD, or any other car they own…

As long as they wreck new cars i could care less, any car that is over 30 years old should be protected from gratuitous destruction.Hell they are what made street racing into drag racing.Boom boxes, carbon fiber and nitous overkill is not real racing. Most of these guys don’t even turn a wrench,it’s just money to them.I’m not saying that the ricers are not fast, that is just an advance in technology .If i had that kind of money and tech when i was a kid i would have had a 7 second 69 charger, without nitrous.

I want to see this, but I don’t want another “we’re gonna bust drug dealers” premise; that’s what brought 2Fast 2Furious down for me.
I am intrigued by the mass amounts of Nissans seen.

I love the FF series! I like the cars and how they keep the plots edgy but fun, kinda like the series “Burn Notice”. Please guys keep doin’ your own thing and don’t ever let Hollywood F it up with their formulas.

For all you guys out there bashing, all brands of cars are being used. Porsches, Gt40′s, chevelles, soltices, corvettes, motorcycles, imports, europeans, domestics, etc. Just because you see one picture of one car do not assume thats the only car in the movie. Do not assume that it is the stars car. Alot of cars are being crashed, so you might be looking at that car before the crash. You might just be looking at a background car’s picture. You guys are assuming the movie is based on a picture of a car that got 5 seconds of film time. There are hundreds of scenes and hundreds of different cars. This movie is using all types of cars equally. If you like domestics, exotics, imports, european, motorcycles, etc this movie is for you. It will be a bad ass movie!!!! You will love it!

I liked all 3 F&F’s regardless of bad acting/scripts and some rediculous racing.(1/3 favs) I will see/own FnF4 as well and am glad Vin is back. Im a domestic fan but I can still appreciate any other make if its fast. Really want to see that truck above!(like I need anymore ideas lol)
Heavily modified Supra would smoke a stock Spyder. Only .3 second advantage 0-60mph stock for stock.

The best thing for this movie was to bring back vin d!!!! Tokyo drift was good, the second was a waste of film, but first is a wonderful film, the main character was not vin but it should have been. He is what made the film. If it wasn’t for vin D this movie would have not done as well. But remember THIS IS A MOVIE!!! not a documentary on tuners!!!

Why dont they must make a REAL fast and the furious and just put a gaggle of muscle cars. Camaros, Trans ams, Corvettes, Cudas, Challengers, and as much as i regret saying this mustangs

they need to go back to street racing but they probably won’t. The cars are cool but I have to agree I have grown up since the first movie. I won’t go see it I will probably rent it since I did that with toyko drift (which sucked)

First movie will always be the best… they should have ended it there.
Very serious, very cool. The cars made that movie, now the cars are like the toy section of wal mart… just pretty extras to spice up the set.

The mustang’s stunt doubles used V8s. Probably a cost cutting measure, but the cars that actually drifted used V8s.

Mudder Trucker:
The Toyota Supra has the venerable 2JZ-GTE which is capable of 800 hp using a stock block. It’s more then capable of “smoking” an F355 Spyder.
As for the Eclipse, it uses a Turbocharged 4G63 Four, and all wheel drive. A Chargers, capable of the amount of horsepower said in the movie for sure could kill that little Eclipse.
As for the RB26DETT from the Silvia (already swapped from a GT-R) going into the 68 Mustang, it makes total sense. It’s a much higher performer then the standard V8.
And finally, the Supra would have taken weeks to complete. They were just trying to compile it all into one scene.

I own the first 3 Fast and the Furious movies, I love watching them mostly because I’m a car lover, and so are the F and F people, they base the majority of the cars around tuners/imports, but in every movie there is a small part of the movie entitled to muscle cars, we all know in the first one Vin Diesel has the charger (bring a tear to my eye everytime i watch it get smashed!!), in 2 it has the challenger and the camaro great cars! but the actors who drove them were dicks..in 3 we had the mustang which turned out awesome, i was against them droppin the nissan engine in the ‘stang when i first seen it cause i was still young and car racist against anything that wasnt domestic but ive learned and the old v8 just wouldnt have done it, ya’ll are right that the nissan 6 was the best thing they could have done to it! Also in Tokyo Drift the Monte at the first against the rich pricks Viper haha, i loved that part. Being from the country and go to school being kind of an outsider cause there aint alot of car love in my school (sadly) seeing the old muscle car that was built not bought hand the prissy boys ass to him haha, that part just makes me feel good hahaha! anyway Fast and the Furious 4 should be a hit and will likely make it into my DVD collection! whether i like it or not

Tokyo Drift race with the Viper and the Monte Carlo was funny. They are racing “fast and furious” yet there is a dodge ram with a bunch of kids hanging out the back video taping the race. I had to watch that part again just to get some laughs.

THIS IS TO MUDDER TRUCKER.
Yo u must not know a lot about cars. I have been to car shows and some meetings before where CIVICS have been Smoking MUSTANGS! Come On Now think! The Supra Smoking a Ferrari could be true. But not with the $15,000 in parts on it. If u watched the only reason the eclipse was catchin him was cuz of Nitrous, DUH!! The Charger didn’t have nitrous. BESIDES WITH THE MUSTANG, PUTTING A NISSAN ENGINE IN IT IS BEST THING THEY COULD OF EVER DONE WITH A FORD!!!

The fast and the furious movies are all great, and im beyond happy too see the actors from the first movie back. However i hope the cars are better then what i saw other then the 180sx pro drift car, im not paying 9.99$ to see a movie where the hero car is a cheap bmw with the worlds worst paint job !!!

Isnt there suppose to be a GNX in the film? Its pretty much the only reason that i want to see the film is if its in there. By far the best race out of all the F&F movies was the race betweent he monte carlo and viper.

hmm… i am one of those people who dissed the F&F movies… they have such weak stories and acting… but who cares… i just want to see the cars, but even more importantly i love to see em work the cars up to something nice.
one thing i really really don’t like is that, i mean for the most part, we are car guys, we know they are bullshitting us… like the supra smoking the ferrari in 1, or the charger not totally blowing the doors off that silly eclipse in 2, in the tokyo one i almost killed someone when i saw em swap the mustang engine with a nissan… like, for fuck’s sake! its enough that i will not pay to see the 4th in the theater, ill rent it later.
and when they were “modding” the supra in #1 i was like “do they really think that car people will be satisfied with that crap?” like, to be realistic they spent time showing the stuff real car guys either make quick work of and barely notice, or dont actually do.

you know, when the first movie came out, people went nanners. I remember waiting in line outside the theater on Friday and Saturday nights for three weeks, hoping to hell they didnt sell out before I got to the counter. When I finally got to see it, it was awesome, and back then, to a fresh out of high school “import” kid, it was. Now that we have grown up, we can look back and bag on it over how cheezy it is. Still though, I go see every installment in theaters. Why not? The whole point of this comment, longwinded as it may be, is that all these people who LOVED the flick when it came out now bag on it like they hated it all along. I make fun of it, sure. Still though, I’d watch it right now if I could. It may be bad-acted, bad-written, and generally bad taste in automotive styling, but who cares? They are still fun movies to watch, and thats what movies like this are supposed to be. Rant over. Oh, and as far as a title, I agree that it should be titled like tokyo drift. HOw bout, TF&TF: Vendetta.
