Danica Patrick First Female Winner in IndyCar History

By Rob Einaudi

On her 50th start, no less–at the Indy Japan 300 in Motegi, Japan. A smart fuel strategy helped put her almost six seconds ahead of the next closest finisher, Helio Castroneves, a two time Indy 500 winner. Congrats Danica! More at IndyCar.com.

Now Danica has set her sights on formula 1. Rumors are that she will test drive for a spot on the Honda F1 team.
If she decides to quit racing she could start a new career as a late night talk show host. Here’s some funny video of her hosting a TV show. motodanica.com

I’m not much of a Danica fan, but I’m curious to see how she’ll do at Indianapolis this year.

I’ve met Danica, last year at Mid-Ohio. Very nice, personable, and wouldn’t leave ’til all her fans got autographs after the race. Couldn’t happen to a nicer driver. Congratulations to her.

Does anyone else think it’s odd Helio just pulled over and let her have it and all the other contenders “ran out of gas an had to pit”? It’s great she finally won a race but let’s see her win one for real and not out of luck before you crown her.

She just got that 800lb gorilla off her back. I think you’ll see her do great things.

Credit given where credit is due. Congratulations Danica. It’s interesting that someone can say she’s not as good as a male driver. To those that have, how many Indy Car races have you won recently?

Science has proven that the reaction of a man is quicker than that but still no reason to dog on the first female victory, many men race and never even get on the stand. I’d bet all my rides she can out drive this Geoff Partain fellow.
