Gas is Cheap, Life is Good

By Ron

aka WayTooFurious

I’ve heard a lot of complaining lately because the price of gas has just gone up in my part of the world, as it has in most other places. Let’s be honest: the current price of gas is cheap, really. The fact is that gas prices were bound to go up again eventually so there’s no point bitching about it. I’ve decided to put a positive spin on the gas spike by planning my next road trip. My point of view is this: as prices will inevitably go up again, the current price of gas is actually cheap, so I might as well enjoy it while I can. In the middle of May, I will start a month’s holiday, and I’m planning to take a massive, rambling road trip, covering a minimum of 1500 miles. I plan to catch up with my father along the way, and we’ll be heading to the Wintersun Festival in Queensland, Australia, a retro rock ‘n’ roll extravaganza that culminates with a huge car show. But that’s not all: as a part of my trip I plan to do a big things tour, the point of which is to visit as many oversized roadside attractions as possible. What’s your position on gas and good times: am I just crazy, or should we really enjoy this "cheap" gas wheile we have it?

If gas is cheap, we can say that life would be better. But then as days goes by, as the price of the gas goes up we cannot deny that life would not better anymore.
You might enjoy your road trip while the gas is cheap, but sooner you will never enjoy your trip.

Man I love it, I hope it keeps rising cause Its making it way easier to finally buy my cadillac escalade sooooo cheap!!! Besides I skateboard so its even better I get my truck keep the miles low and skate and get in better shape anyways! the unfortunate part is when I have to use the truck to tow the boat and put gas in the boat.

This website put all the gas prices from my area into an easy to read and disturbing graph. Just see how much gas has climbed in the last 9 months where I live.

It’s funny – Gas goes up and up while other things just keep dropping:

Life is good…
.
Gas…isn’t cheap.
.
People complain because of how quickly it’s risen.
.
.
Like your plans for a road trip, all the same!
.
.
Too bad you can’t just drive over to Oregon or Northern California…
.
There are a lot of those road side attractions!
.
.
I do appreciate your putting a positive twist on gas prices.
.
Have a great road trip!
