Against the Wall: Futuristic Traffic Light

By John Coyle

If all traffic signals were like this concept from designer Hanyoung Lee, running a red light would be pretty tough to do. The system would use lasers to project a virtual wall, and while it wouldn’t be cheap, it would sure get people’s attention. Talk about building a better mousetrap! More over at Winding Road.

Imagine this going beyond lights and including all traffic signs and even billboards. Pretty distracting I think.

Presently, the Virtual Wall is merely a concept from designer Hanyoung Lee. However, I want you to just imagine that you are looking at a city of the future, where every crosswalk has one of these Virtual Walls. It probably looks like something out of Blade Runner.
