Trash Truck Driver Charged Under Street Racing Law

By John Coyle

Editor

Talk about dirty business! This week, a Canadian garbage man earned the dubious distinction of being the first commercial driver charged under the country’s new street racing law. He was doing almost double the speed limit—112 in a 60KPH zone—when the cop popped him, and along with a mandatory one-week suspension of his license, he also got his employer’s truck impounded. Presumably, he’ll be spending the free hours before his June 5th court appearance looking for a new job. Maybe there’ll be a part for him in The Fast and the Furious: Smell You Later.
