Oakland A's Belvedere Tailgate Party

By Rob Einaudi

I grew up in the Bay Area, used to go to a lot of A’s games, and of course I love old Belvederes. So I really liked this post on Jalopnik about Belvedere Adrian and his tailgate party at an A’s game last weekend. This looks exactly like my trunk, down to the color and bits of surface rust on the inside of the trunk lid (though his bumper looks straighter than mine, and that KSJO sticker is pretty sweet). Mariner games are fine and all, but they don’t have quite the atmosphere of a good A’s game. Check out Jalopnik for a ton of pics of the five Belvederes that turned out.

Ya just have to love the “Disc Brakes Are For Cowards” as well. And the trunk prop… priceless.

Back in the early 70′s I had some friends who had Belvederes and other Mopar products. (Even though I wouldn’t admit to it back in those days. Hey, things were a lot different back then. LOL) But I also remember going to many a Bay Area ball game. As a matter of fact one of them that I went to stands out more than others. It was called, “Battle of the Bay.” and it was played on Octobor 17 1989.
