WRC Jordan Rally Update

The inaugural Rally of Jordan has produced some interesting results. Due to the ever-changing surface of the road, the drivers further down the leaderboard are turning faster times on the stages, and there have been some wild incidents so far. Sebastien Loeb—who had built a commanding 30 second lead—had his rally ended when Colin Rautenbach ran into him head on as Rautenbach was heading to a check point and Loeb was leaving it. A blind corner not wide enough for both cars led to the incident, which ended both of their chances for victory. Petter Solberg was also unlucky, as an engine fire virtually destroyed his suspension during the same stage. Solberg actually managed to return the next morning under the "restart" rule, but then rolled his car on the day’s final stage. I haven’t watched the last day yet but, after I finish, I’ll post a recap. Stay tuned!
