BMW M1 Concept
By David
aka Highspeedhijinks
When it comes to its heritage, BMW seems to have a flair for the dramatic. Instead of waiting for a regular old auto show, the company unveiled the it new M1 concept at a private party during the prestigious Villa d’Este Concours. Just so folks didn’t forget the car’s roots, the concept was parked next to an original M1, along with the 1972 turbo concept that inspired it. The purpose of all of this hoopla was to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the M1, and possibly, gauge if there’s enough interest to warrant resurrecting the dormant model. Technical specs are scarcethe concept was void of engine and interiorbut for those wondering, the headlights worked. Here’s hoping BMW takes some styling cues from this gorgeous brain storm. Think there’s room for another supercar in the already flooded market? Two more pics after the jump.

This car is sick, whoever commented saying its a copy of a copy, big deal, you would drive that car any day and you know it. You just had to be one of those people who wants to be different and say the opposite of everyone else. THIS CAR IS RIDICULOUS.
Really?

Looks like a modern 8-series to me. I like it, they definitely should build some. Perhaps even give me one?

A Scowl definitely will sell. A downright freaking angry look will sell better. Don’t know that the aerodynamics will be wonderful, but it sure looks like ITS paying for its own gas.

Mostly these days, I see the exact look, but they’re on human faces.
-
As I always say with concepts though… IF they produce it, I seriously hope they don’t tone it down to the point that it looks like a freaking 3 series from the early ’90s.
-
WAaaay too much of that crap happens to the ones that survive beyond the conceptual stage.
