Would You do a Burnout in Your Own Driveway?

By John Coyle

Editor

First, there’s no question burnouts are awesome. And this Saleen Fox body is clearly a bad-ass machine. But laying rubber in your own driveway? I thought this was something you did to people you hate, like a more permanent version of turning donuts on their lawn. Isn’t this kind of like s***ting where you eat? That’s what I think anyway. What’s your opinion? Or is this a boneheaded idea?

I do not believe this

As long as you don’t have studded tires, good to burn

May 10, 2008 at 12:22 am

OK by me. Have you ever paid a ticket for doing a burnout on a public highway? It’s not cheap, and noise and pollution tickets don’t add points against your liscence.

I do this all the time, my mark VII lays down some NICE patches! matter of fact I just did one about a hour ago, to show my buddys why my first car is v8 powered!

Yes, i would burn rubber in my driveway, and my dads a cop, he stands outside, shakes his head & just watches.

As my ol man used to tell me… I know you’re going to be out there do’n some stupid *&$%, but it’s never a good idea to do it in your own “back yard”. I say save it for someone elses neighbors.

Burnouts in the drive way? Definitely cool… in fact almost required for a true motor head. The only thing cooler is doing burnouts INSIDE the garage (with the car facing out the door of course). My brothers done that twice. Burnouts with the car facing the garage though? Ummm… not such a smart idea. Lose control and not only is your car gonna get damaged, but so is the place you’re gonna be fixin’ it! lol

IWant2BoostIt
May 5, 2008 at 4:20 pm

Done that already, better in your driveway then on a public road(ticket wise atleast). Now if my mom and dad would have liked it as much as me and my buddies did…

Jason
May 5, 2008 at 3:29 pm

Well here’s the deal… you guys say that cops can’t do anything about it due to the fact that its on private property… that’s completely untrue… it’s called disturbing the peace or noise pollution… no different than if he were having a ridiculously loud house party… so despite it being private property, it is still illegal…

Anonymous
May 5, 2008 at 8:09 am

Awesome!…just depends on the time zone you wanna do it in…shift
workers would call the cops on you!…the woman in my life would be
verrryyyy pissed off with me for fucking up the expensive paving bricks….with a car like the one in the pic,the bricks would most certainly be removed from their original positions!…in my town it would cause quite a stirr and it would be the talk of the town!..

It helps to get rid of bugs (and In-Laws) in the middle of the summer. Well, for a short time anyways……….

May 5, 2008 at 7:34 am

A burnout in front of your house or in your driveway is marking your territory. Besides, if you own the property…. Why not???? It took 20 minutes to clear the neighborhood of smoke after I did it in my driveway.

Tyler
May 5, 2008 at 3:25 am

i did a HUGE SMOKEY brakestand in my garage because my fan club(local cop that hates me) was watching from a nearby allyway and got mad because he could do NOTHING about it.

well wouldnt you rather have proof that you did it, people come over “ya heres where i smoked the tires off my car *pointing at thick black strips*” its not just like on some random road where anybody could have layed it and your a lying SOB with a civic or somethin sayin you did a huge posi burnout hahaha, happens to many times

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTVQjGZT4jM this is a video we made of my friend roasting them in his driveway. thought it fit this pretty well.

Lee
May 4, 2008 at 7:13 pm

You know it is his property, and it’s better than doing it on a street where you could easily cause an accident.

I’d do it in my driveway if it was paved. It shows that you’re a car guy.

Val
May 4, 2008 at 6:08 pm

U know what its not as bad as the dumbass that did a bike burnout in his living room lol, burnt rubber smells like ass, and you dont want your house smelling like it, here its atleast outside.

nonosrqwifey
May 4, 2008 at 5:31 pm

Ok, to all of you little pricks out there, the neighbors DO NOT care about him doing this in the driveway, in fact, they all egg him on to do it! His car is bad ass and everyone around here talks about it all the time. Second of all, this is not a rental in a ghetto neighborhood, we actually live in a good neighborhood and OWN our own home, something I’m sure some of you (doof, I’m talking to you) would never be able to do in their lifetime. I can understand if you don’t wanna do this in your driveway, but don’t talk shit about someone who does!

Tyler
May 4, 2008 at 4:47 pm

wow, you should see my garage! gets a little smokey at times and you can see more rubber than pavement when you look at the floor!

Anonymous

I hope he crashes into his house. Why would you do that facing your house?! Then again if he is dumb enough to do that in his drive way he is one dumb dick anyway’s. And to that guy who said his car is a POS HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW?!?! STOP comparing Civics to Mustangs!!! Domestics paved the way for what we have today.Give respect when its due the drive is a jack ass but don’t take it out on the car

Ben
May 3, 2008 at 7:48 am

I think its kinda funny, although I wouldn’t do that facing my garage. It might be kinda funny to do a burnout coming out of the garage but I probably wouldn’t do it. Its about as bad as my neighbours who rev up their snow mobiles at 7am on a Saturday morning. On second though maybe I should, but defiantly in their driveway.

It’s probly a rental house …so like he gives a care. However, Why the hell doesn’t he have the car facing to the street to do that… It would have been funny if his brakes slipped and he hit that truck or threw a rock into his camera and broke it!

Hell yeah, I would, you shouldn’t be able to get in trouble for it, but probably still could. I don’t see what the hell is such a big deal about a burnout. Do people honestly have nothing better to worry about than a kid having some good clean fun? I don’t see how it could bother anyone, but it does. I think that anyone who hates burnouts should get the sand out of their vaginas.

If I ever caught someone slashing ANYBODY’S tires I’d beat the living daylights out of him. LEARN TO RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE’S PROPERTY. If not, your ass is fair game.

I don’t mess with other people’s things and have Z-E-R-O T-O-L-E-R-A-N-C-E for even the mention of it.

GTwildfire
May 2, 2008 at 5:32 am

DOOFUS… if I lived next door to you, you would be on life support ya little shit.
-
I got your “sense of entitlement” right here in my nutsack, now go run off you little snot nosed piece of shit.

doof
May 2, 2008 at 3:55 am

hey white trash, be considerate of your neighbors and get rid of that sense of entitlement like you can just do whatever the hell you want.

If you lived next door to me all your tires would be slashed the next morning, then when you got new tires they would be slashed again.

then again in 6 months.

GTwildfire
May 2, 2008 at 1:14 am

LOL… quite a few times… more than I can count… in reverse.
-
The apron at the edge of the driveway is higher on one side than the other. I have to back the bird in on that side slowly cause of the bump. The front wheels get hung up at least half the time. If I wanted to I could smove in reverse indefinitely there, but I end up doing a couple rotations. I don’t feel like replacing the F1’s prematurely.

Jeremy
May 2, 2008 at 12:17 am

I guess if you’re really uptight about keeping your pavement in mint condition it could be seen as a bad thing.

As far as I’m concerned, if there’s rubber on the ground in front of your garage, it shows your car actually has a pair.

cknarf

Gary Faules
May 1, 2008 at 8:09 pm

You don’t honestly believe a preacher stops preaching when he get’s home from church do you? Other than the fact that it sounds so stock I don’t see anything abnormal about it at all. I think of a lot like a dog taking a leak on a fire hydrant…. Just marking his own territory.

Highspeedhijinks
May 1, 2008 at 7:38 pm

I would chalk this up to “premature tire-rotation” its a common problem amongst men. I think they make a pill for it.
~
Its kinda silly to do in your OWN drive way, but if he didnt have anyone to hold the camera while he did it, I guess its the best place ?

Evan
May 1, 2008 at 7:38 pm

Never in my own driveway. However, I have done a couple of revolutions in my own garage. Amazing, how much faith we’ll put into our brakes. Could you imagine if this guys brakes let go.
