Burt Reynolds Trans Am on eBay
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This 1978 Special Edition Y82 Trans Am was driven by Burt Reynolds while he was consulting with YearOne on the Bandit cars, and has been featured in Hot Rod twice. Looks pretty solid, though it has patch panels in the rear quarters, so not exactly virgin sheetmetal. Seems like the bidding is off to a healthy start on eBay.
Once more for the record I’d like to say that Pontiac is CRAZY if they don’t come out with another Trans Am. And I’m sure Burt would be willing to help out.

i to can vouch for the fact that it origanlly came with an auto, and i dont believe that to be a real burt signature. good looking car but burts ta was a 77 not 78 thats another fact to prove that its not smokey and the bandit. the 77 has a 6.6 liter bb 455 under the hood the 78 has a 400 anyway this guy selling the car is a freaking retard on crack i qoute beavis and butthead huh huh huh dumbass

This is not a number’s matching car as claimed by seller.
It was an automatic at one time ,and changed over to a 4 speed standard .
How do i know this ,easy actuall .The car has factory cruise control .No such option in 78 with a standard

Would the new Burt Reynolds edition include all of the “body work” that Burt himself has had?

Plus, it’s featured on the front lawn, which is required for any Camaro-related vehicles 1977-1988.
