By John Coyle

Kazunori Yamauchi, the designer behind the Gran Turismo series, is a serious gearhead, and he’s no slouch behind the behind the wheel. Check out this clip of him taking a new GT-R around a wet and slippery Nurburgring. The part where loses control is hair-raising. via Autoblog

That video is accessible directly on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue through the “GT TV” feature.
.
Kazunori Yamauchi is the ultimate gear-head. He helped design the multi-function display meter in the new GT-R, and last time I checked he owns not one but TWO Ford GTs.

Kazunori Yamauchi is an amazing man. The GTR is an awesome car. The Nurburgring has no parallel.

Yamauchi didn’t really lose it bad. He had a quick recovery and it was an uneventful mishap, unless I missed something but I was fixated on the video from beginning to end.

Personally, If I had a choice of tracks anywhere on Earth, it would be the Nurburgring, but would greatly, GREATLY prefer to run it under DRY conditions. If I ever had enough money to do so, you can be sure I’ll be going there. That would be an even higher priority than visiting family in Germany.
