New Nissan Silvia
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Nissan is planning to bring back an affordable RWD coupe and beat the joint Toyota/Subaru effort to the showrooms by a good six months. Based on the next Z-car platform, this new Silvia is expected to powered by a NA 2.0 liter, with possible 1.6 or 1.8 turbo variants. More at 7tune.com.

the reason they have this, is duh…. not an affordable, historic, or just overall great RWD out there. seriously, who can afford a 350? anyone? yeah, anyone reading this most likely cant. didnt think so… moving on… if this thing is being sold around the speculated 21 to 24 K, a huge HUGE amount of tuning enthusiasts would buy this like hot cakes. and who cares about the looks? if anything, someone out there will pick up like, 4 of these, and then import an S15, and build up a conversion kit and then SHIZZAM! modern technology meets history that we all know and love.

This car looks so bland! It resembles none of the past Silvias. What happend to the appealing 1998 S15 head lights. Again, let me reemphasize, IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE A SILVIA!

Well, I think this car will be a huge hit, and I’m kind of excited about it, I hope to see this car survive emissions to make its way into america

i like this. if you people are wondering why this? its because not everyone can afford a 350z and the altima is fwd.they did it before 300z and 240sx “a 6 and a 4banger”. i take it as long as they dont make it look like a 350,g35.skyline

Aside from your opinions I think I understand why NISSAN would produce this for america! All you hard-core IMPORT tuner’s will now have an awesome platform to start modding at a price you can continue to mod with. Nissan has to compete with TOYOTA’s side (SCION). this is an actual tuner where as SCION is just a little vehicle with flashing lights! I think the car is cool and this coming from a LUXURY car owner! now all our 350Z, altima coupe, G35 owners can find some common ground and have fun with these NISSAN based coupes and go NISMO crazy! Shit I think I might get one they look like a cool little car for around town!

i dont get the point for this. They have the 350z and the 2 door altima for sports coupe…why a third?

The car doesn’t look bad and it’s a good platform to tune. Too bad it’s not an AWD. Still, I kinda like it.
