Chrysler Campaigning for Customers!
By John Coyle
Editor
One of the hot topics in the race for the White House has been a so-called "gas tax holiday." And while this would temporarily lower prices, the plans has been met with skepticism from economists, who believe—quite correctly—that the idea is political bluster. But given the amount of ink the prospect of cheap gas is generating, Ma Mopar has decided to launch a gas plan of her own. The "Let’s Refuel America" program would guarantee purchasers of some Chrysler vehicles $2.99 per-gallon fuel for the next three years, which should mean substantial savings for buyers who bite before June 2nd. What do you think: Will this help combat Chrysler’s dismal drop in sales? Or will it wind up doing more harm than good?

With gas prices as they are, and for someone who’s definitely gonna buy something new?
-
I’d say they should check out the inventory at a Chrysler Dodge dealer.
-
Gas very possibly (even likely) will exceed $5.00 USD within 3 years. In fact, I expect $6.00 possibly within two years from now.
-
Don’t scoff at that prediction. There is NOTHING standing in the way of gas prices going that high, and on the other hand quite a few things continuting to push those prices up. One Hurricane in the Golf of Mexico (how often does that happen?)… one terrorist attack in a vulnerable place… and BAM! Steep in the price of oil increases virtually overnight when speculators go into spasms.
-
Anything that can lock-in the price of gas for 3 years can easily end up making whoever takes advantage of it very, very thankfull with every tankfull.

Very smart move for Chrysler. The amount of gas you can use annually is limited, so the amount of money that Chrysler is spending per car is actually LESS than many rebates.
.
They’re catering to all of the morons that are hysterical about high gas prices.

That’s an interesting tactic. I’m wondering how many they’ll catch? I wonder if it’s only certain gas stations or if it works at any?
