Who Comes Up With These Things?

By David

aka Highspeedhijinks

With Speed Racer set to hit screens Friday, MSN Movies decided to come out with a Top 10 list of the "Best Vehicular Flicks," and it seems way off. Just take a look for yourself. Doesn’t it appear that some deserving movies—Ronin, Gone in 60 Seconds, the Fast and the Furious—are conspicuously absent? And even with the prominent GTO placement, does xXx really belong here? Sure, the goat is a cool ride, but I don’t think that makes the movie Top 10 worthy. Am I completely wrong here? Or should sites like this stick to reviewing films?

Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry; half of the movie was one long chase scene with a nice lime green Charger R/T. Vanishing point should also be on there

The list is decent, although I would replace the Thelma & Louise with Ronin, and XXX with Gone in 60 seconds, but otherwise it’s not bad.

Besides xXx, I kind of agree with the list. I would like to see American Graffiti lower in the list, say top 3, but apart from that I think the list is pretty good.

I don’t plan on reading the article, but from what you’ve said in this little post I’d say I agree entirely.
