Path To An Automotive Dream Job?

By Ron

aka WayTooFurious

Let’s be honest: amidst all the layoffs and dwindling sales, getting started in the automotive industry isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do anymore. In fact, in my Australian hometown of Geelong, we’re going to lose 600 jobs when Ford closes its six-cylinder engine plant. That’s why I was pleasantly surprised to see that Rolls-Royce really seems to be pushing its "Graduate Experience," a trainee program recruiting "high performers" from a wide range of disciplines such as engineering and business. Successful applicants will be expected to undertake projects that are designed to develop their skills over a two-year program, which involves both national and international travel. Sounds like a rough life! So if you think you’re the next Chip Foose and can get a permit to work in the UK and Europe, this might be a worthwhile opportunity. Do any of you have ambitions of working in the automotive industry? What’s your automotive dream job?

They do mean the straight six right? as if the v6 wasn’t whacky enough, the straight is even crazier. I hope alot of manufactures rid of it as well…bmw with the v8, can let the wobbling pansy go now. Japan takes 180000 years after the rest of the world does away with something to say to themsleves: it is time to get rid of the straight six nissan. That reminds me of a joke.. How many chinamen did it take to extinct a bad engine? they even got that backwards and did away with the wrong thing. Anyway, good luck to new jobs. This is a routine ford and all autos have prevailed over in the past, else we’d be driving fuel injected model Ts.
