What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Rob Einaudi

I took my Satellite to the All Mopar Spring Round-Up in Issaquah. Although the show was dominated by ‘68 – ‘71 muscle, there were some older Mopars there as well. I really dug this ‘46 Power Wagon owned by Jerry Nelson, which was one of the more nicely restored vehicles at the show, and a real crowd pleaser. Two more pics after the jump.

What did you do this weekend?

Tried to replace the FWD wheel hubs on my ‘01 Grand Prix, but the SICK BASTARDS who designed the hub & knuckle buried 2 of the 3 hub bolts. I put the DS back together when I saw I was getting no farther and took it around the corner to the shop.
-
I WAS VINDICATED when the shop had to take off the PS knuckle in its entirety to remove that hub. Even then, the bolts did not cooperate and were removed with a combination of heat, torque, impact, prayer and foul language (not necessarily in that order).
-
Sometimes $500 bucks dosen’t seem like a lot of money.
-
Besides, you win some and lose some. I got away with replacing the catalytic converter on my Firebird days earlier for $130 with a direct-fit bolt-on.

I took my maiden voyage on my motorcycle. Check out page 5 of my Grand Prix if you want to see the pinstriping I did on the bike.
