Woman Locks Herself in Car, Calls Police for Help

By John Coyle

Editor

After a dead battery rendered her power locks inoperable, a woman in Orem, Utah called police for help exiting her vehicle. When they arrived, the cops apparently told her "to manually operate the slide lock mechanism on the inside door panel." Now, there aren’t a lot of details in this report of the incident, so I’m going to give this lady the benefit of the doubt, even though I honestly can’t understand how someone could possibly be both legally competent to drive and unable to figure out how to manually open power locks. Seriously, I’m at a loss there. One thing I’m totally certain of? Somebody in the graphics department of KUTV’s website is having an absolute blast. Just look at the image they made to accompany this story! Isn’t it awesome?

Some people are so stupid, you have to wonder how they’ve survived up to this point.

As sad as this may sound, while working for a local Chevy dealer an older woman called us with the same problem. The funny part of this story is once we came and got her out of the car she complained that she was starting to run out of air.

too bad they couldn’t incorporate “idiot” or “moron” into the graphic, but those go withut saying I guess.

Wow, that’s pretty sad. I wonder how the police kept a straight face…
