Chevy Cheetah on eBay!

By Jen Dunnaway

I never really knew a whole lot about the Chevy Cheetah, a rare factory racecar designed in the early 60’s as a longshot competitor to the Cobra. But earlier today, I was leafing through this cool advertorial from Max Chevy Magazine on the new Ruth Cheetah replica kit, which is why I found it just a little freakishly coincidental to run across yet another Cheetah for sale on eBay: suddenly they’re everywhere! On the grounds that original Cheetah creator Bill Thomas lent his stamp of approval to the car, the seller insists that this one’s not a replica, but a belated "Continuation" of the original model run that ended in 1964 with only a handful of the aluminum-bodied cars produced. Hmm. Do you think the not-a-replica cred of the "Bill Thomas 1965 Continuation Series Cheetah" will get it any closer to its $100K Buy It Now price?

It’s has a somewhat awkward overall shape to it (I think the rear needs to be longer), but I still think it rocks.

If this car dosen’t fetch 100 grand, there is no justice in this world. It SHOULD get more than that.

Oh she is so beautiful! Despite what you may think of me I would be gentle with this car.
A little XKE in the bonnet. Something else with the rear. Sleek and sexy!!!!
