Are You Ready For $5 Gas?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
We’re up to almost $4.50 per gallon in Seattle. Sames goes for California. How much higher can it go? Are you ready for $5 gas? What kind of changes will you make (or have you made already)?

Im as prepared as I can be. I now only drive my Grand Prix to and from work. I rode my motorcycle all this weekend and put 120 miles on it. I only burned 1.5 gallons of gas. I decided to top it off for the weekend and it cost me 15 dollars.

Once the novelty of owning the bike wears off and I stop horsing it, Im sure I’ll be doing even better on gas and riding it a lot more.

you’d think at 5 a gallon the gas station this picture was taken at could afford some new pumps. its 3.99 for regular here in south georgia, but its come down a bit it was 4.15 for a little while. i drive the same amount i just dont floor it as much, and i do a shit-ton (yes thats a technical term) of coasting.

$5.00 gas?!? What are you an optimist or a fool?
-
I hate to be the bearer of ominous news, but say hello to $6.00 or $7.00 gas, maybe even more.
-
The market is inflated by reaction, not logic. This can go either way, either common sense prevails eventually or this feeds itself into an uncontrolled spiral of greed, misperception and no restraint because the market is expected to take control of itself in this situation.
-
There hasn’t been a trace of common sense, and all the factors feeding this are humming along like a runaway train.
-
This isn’t going to end well, folks.

I figured it out. I stopped eating and paying my mortgage. Now that I am much slimmer I can keep more of my personal things in my car so no need for a home. Hey, if this works out I may not even need a job! Let’s party, my place. BYOB. (Of gas.)

It doesnt matter here in nevada, cause we got alot of farm land here thats big high priced equipment you gotta fuel. I work at an Equipment dealership ( you can see in my ride page) and I gotta haul equipment across nevada all the time (with my new SILVERADO) LOL, Ill have pics of that soon. but we drive alot out here and it makes it hard to ride a bike or something. I stay with my Girlfriend across town often times cause I cant keep driving across the freeway everyday!

Here in Ottawa it’s $1.36/Litre (which works out to $5.14 a gallon) I still drive the same amount, just spend less on other things.

It’s only $3.85 in my town.
Maybe this mean there will be less idiots out driving on the road so I can drive with less frustration! I can only hope…

I am very lucky to only live 3 miles from work and I drive a xB. Some people would say bike to work, but I need the car for deliveries and running work related errands.
We typically get out of town on the weekends, but this has already been reduced due to gas. Also going into downtown ATL promises being stuck in traffic I try to aviod that at all cost. I hate sitting on the highway burning gas and going nowhere
