Greenfield Village Motor Muster
I spotted this gorgeous 1957 Oldsmobile 88 2-door hardtop belonging to Larry Miller of Plymouth, MI at the 2008 edition of Motor Muster at Greenfield Village this weekend. Cars from 1933 to 1976 were invited in to display the changing styles of automobilia on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum. Among other things were two GMC motor homes (that’s tandem air ride to you!), two spotless AMC Gremlins (gas caps intact), a blue Stout Scarab (the original minivan), a FIAT Topolino, and plenty of American Muscle. A smattering of British ironware, air-cooled VWs, and oddball Volvos rounded out the lot. The Olds caught my eye as I came up on it from the side – the profile is very unusual. The color scheme works well on the large sheet metal ,and the interior is gorgeous. But check out the rear end: this Continental kit could be the original inspiration for some of that crazy Bosozoku stuff.
