JDM Custom Interiors
By Ben Schaffer
Bulletproof Automotive
Every once in a while I bring up these two cars in discussions with friends. They are without a doubt the two best custom interiors I’ve ever come across in a Japanese tuned sport car. I first saw these cars three years ago and I haven’t seen anything classier or better since. They are two of the Black X Metal demo cars produced by DAMD (the Aston Martin type front bumper cars). I’ve been the US distributor of DAMD for a number of years and fortunately we’ve been able to do a few of the Aston Martin bumpers on some US cars. Its a crazy kit, always controversial.
As far as the interior goes, it’s all one-off work that is actually done by the wife of the owner of DAMD. I heard she’s an interior designer or something. At any rate, this stuff is top notch design.
First up, the 350Z interior (sorry for the tacky watermarks, that was our old watermark style). And I have a pic of the Miata interior after the jump.
Seriously, when have you seen a Miata interior ever look this good?

These kind of remind me of the Spyker interiors.

leather patterned interiors…. jdm? i think they are nice as i am aiming for leather interior myself. but just cause its made by a DAMD doesn’t really make it jdm..one example is the Spyker C8 Spyder which looks JUST like the 350 z you posted looks identical..but then again. its something japanese.. better than the ford you posted up saying it was jdm

the interiors are pretty nice, i must admit. but how does custom fit into “japanese domestic market.”? when i hear the words ‘domestic market’ i think of something thats readily available, and in mass production. not, “lets make it COMPLETELY custom”
just..my thoughts..but still. its nice work
