The Smartest Way to Buy Your Next Car?

By Jen Dunnaway

Yep, that’s a smart-car vending machine, but it won’t take your coins deliver that satisfying ka-chunk of the Coke dispenser at work. Nope, this promotional vendor, on display at select locations around Japan, reportedly provides a slot for the insertion of money, allows you to select cabrio or coupe, and then spits out a tube full of manufacturer paperwork for you to take to the nearest dealership (hey, it ate my 20,000 bucks!). Seems like just going to the dealership in the first place might be the way to go, but hey, it’s Japan, where everything’s better when it comes out of a vending machine. Let’s hope that no one starts rocking the machine when it fails to deliver a pint-sized road-pod: that could be dangerous! More views after the jump.

Haha, 20,000 yen is about 200 bucks.

Living in that country has its awesomeness. Just yesterday I encountered a Ferrari that had been retuned with a new aftermarket exhaust, perhaps custom. I also saw one of those done-up fancy semi-trucks. Haha, quite a sight.
