Pablo the Rookie

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Pablo’s Porsche 968 has a big red R on the back bumper, which stands for rookie. In fact, Pablo had just completed his first time trial event the previous weekend. Then he road tripped all the way across the country from Philadelphia to compete in the Ultimate Track Car Challenge. And he placed 3rd in Independent JV. Not too bad!

Pablo has about $25-30k invested in this 968, along with a ton of work. It’s got the stock non-turbo four banger with basically just a header, chip and modified airbox. I talked to Pablo and his crew for a while between the sessions and he’s a super nice, down to earth guy who calls himself a "weekend warrior." Be sure to click through to his ride page for a ton more info on the car, and I have a bunch more pics after the jump.

Kool…..! The road trip was filled with plenty of excitement and “interesting stuff”. Everything is INDEED bigger in texas….

You should see the size of the steak and egg breakfast at that Big Texan place. Add a dose of true Cowgirls dressd in short skirts and boots, and you certainly have a winner.

The one tree looking thing is actually a Cactus! HUGE! We definitely don’t have those in Philly…. who would have thought… and I thought cactuses all looked the same… like the ones they sell at the store on the east coast from ornament purposes…. We had pulled over to argue with “Carmen”, the “GPS girl”. She was definitely lost as we tried to find the Grand Canyon West Skywalk…..
