These are possible, this exploratory effort by a marketing engineering partnership is nothing more than a test of interest. these wheels are renderings of wheels, (computer generated).
The first image shows these with tires the second shows the same arrangement without tires from the inside of the wheels, notice they are floating.

Nanotubes are not uncommon and only increase toughness. I am sure these are still made like many carbon product are, the nano content does not mean these are grown in a petri dish or made in an underground weapons lab. I don't imagine these will use Roswellian technology but one never knows what marketing crap get spewed out in trying to boggle minds of innocent consumers. Full petrochemical composite wheels were pioneered bu Michelin in the late 1960's. Fiber reinforced resins not unlike a few other current makers. True the carbon fibers are higher performance than glass fibers used in 1960's, but the process is only slightly improved.

Anyway marketing hype and a buck will buy you a cup of coffee. While trusting marketing hype might buy you crap.

Be nice to have those for my Roxanne. Maybe they should put a set on a super car and a set on a old pickup truck and see how they hold up. Put the car on a few tracks, put the truck in town and off road.

Fantastic looking and, whilst not the first, will bring some competition into the world of premium light-weight wheels... Hopefully bringing the price down to non-supercar pricing. Better grip on rough roads, quicker acceleration, reduced fuel consumption, reduced braking distance! Great!

These are very impressive. Being based on carbon nanotubes they will be stronger than previously contructed wheels using CF weave. CF nanotubes conduct heat very well. Also, the chemical bonding of CF nanotubes is stronger than the carbon bonds within diamond.

CF nanotubes are also the strongest, stiffest material known today:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_nanotube#Properties

The PhD's are taking wheel construction to an atomic level, much beyond the previous weave lay-up that I'm used to doing. Amazing.
