North Carolina DMV Wakes Up To Bad Words On Plates, Takes Action

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

The North Carolina DMV was shocked to discover what "WTF" means after being tipped off by an elderly lady whose snickering grandchildren filled her in on the meaning of the offending acronym on her license plate. In response, the Department sent a letter to the state’s estimated 10,000 "WTF" plate holders, promising them a replacement plate if desired. If I had a WTF, I’d kinda want to hang onto it. Wouldn’t you? Via Jalopnik.

Danny – look up the Call of Cthulhu novels. It is a horror series that will make you lose sleep at night. As to what it has to do with the bad word licenses I have no clue. I do think that it is funny that the Cthulhu plate is on a Kids First plate. Fitting for an Evil Monster who eats souls.

BTW you forgot about the plates here in ohio about 10 years ago, my county gave out FUK and FUC.

A friend of mine recently got as a vanity place “FAHQ” in Wyoming. I wonder if they even attempted to read that aloud while processing the paper work! :D

Nobody has ever accused any DMV office of being quick to realize anything.

That’s too funny. I don’t know who would want the HIV plate though.
