Do you have a new render?, I like the first one
The second one looks weird on
the lower part, like a messy geometry and
the surface transition seems to hard.
I saw your page, nice models

I LOVE IT !!! Can u make me one? I have an 07 SXT & I would love to have that front grill. Im looking at buying halo lights but your design kicks ass.

Just in case anyone’s still looking at this… I can assure you (since I’m the one who modeled it… lol) that it looks a lot different than this now.
And the possibility of it being available in the near future is looking good!

It looks good..
But i think take away two doors and kind of make the body lines roll like the one in the 60’s and it would be a winner.

Who cares on a freakin four door?
craig
Jul 18, 2008 at 12:18 am
i think its a good omage to the old skool good looks of the old charger with a modern and mean look…good job i’d buy one…remember you can always get it changed to a two door and presto your set, remember car manfacturers design for 50-60 yr olds if we hot rod them they might remember that style also sells!

John

this would so pretty in pink! plus some roses, tulips & daffodils on the bonnet would be so sweet. The suspension should be higher too. Plus some jdm stickers!!! BONUS!

Yea, that looks badass!
Its spot on, that car in a dark color would just devour everything on the road! Awesome!
I really don’t like how when i look at the rear of the car screams CHRYSLER. Reminds me of the 300c. They should retro that out to complete the job- then it would be truly badass
I think the Charger in stock v6 form looks OK- Black SRT8 version is really sharp and where its at. I feel that Ford did a better job with the Stang, its more of a complete retro job inside and out more so than the charger. and then theres the Saleen… ohh my!!

If we want our new cars to look so much like the old ones why don’t we just get the old blueprints and tooling out and build exact duplicates.

Jul 15, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Thats awesome. They deffinatly should have made the car this way
Jeff
Jul 15, 2008 at 4:59 pm
Now that is more like it. They would not keep them in the show room had Chrysler built that car. If you build that as a kit, I think everyone who bought a new charger to re live the old days would buy that from you.

Jul 14, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Chrysler had the right idea, this modification takes it further, but what happened to the coupe!! True sixties muscle cars didn’t have 4 doors. In fact most of us wouldn’t be caught dead in a 4 door!

Jul 13, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Being the owner of an 06 Midnight Blue Pearl Charger, I about flipped when I saw these shots. I think its a nice change and even more of a match giving homage to the Chargers of the late 60’s early 70’s. I dont quite understand why people are so hard on a ride. I get contant great comments about my Charger and how it looks (even though it doesnt have the Hemi, it carries the 3.5L HO V6, but thankfully I get the best gas mileage out of all 3 rides (Charger, 300, Magnum) and with prices the way they are, every little but helps. I would definitely put that front end on my Charger if I could find one. GO MOPAR!
Dazz Wryght
Jul 12, 2008 at 11:29 pm
The Charger can’t be two things at once it wants to be a top selling full size family sedan and be a 60’s muscle car. To be close to either Chrysler will have to give up something. Do like Lance Diehl said go with a pillar-less four door coupe a la Mazda RX-8 and style the car to look like a true homage to the original. Or, name it something else and market it as a competitor to the Pontiac G8 a performance sedan. Pick your poison. The new grill would work as a after market piece through Mopar, but as a production piece it comes off like a Hollywood starlet; a new nose and lips don’t always get you the roll.

Jul 12, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Cool if you are gonna keep it with the same body style and 4 doors. But if Dodge can retro the Challenger, then quit screwing around, and make a retro coke-bottle-ish ‘68/’69 Charger!
Jim
Jul 12, 2008 at 5:32 pm
Looks alright. Still not what a charger should look like. Now fix the rest of it.

Grill is nice but that awfull front spoiler relly spoils it. George Bush’s ass looks better.
rtmike
Jul 12, 2008 at 4:41 am
Now that looks like ASS.
The new Charger is selling as many as the new 300 if not more. Chrysler knew exactly what they were doing.

The early concepts for the new Charger were gorgeous and true to the original ‘68-70 body style (google for pictures and video if you don’t believe me). The Charger they actually built is a complete 180 from the original concepts and pays NO tribute to the original. Updating the front clip now ‘aint gonna fix things…. go back to the drawing board and come up with something that DESERVES to be called a Charger.

Can’t even touch the ‘70 Charger R/T I had years ago. The “Coke bottle” body of the 68-70 Charger made it a classic.

73 Charger
Jul 11, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Not a bad idea at all. It think your on the rite track. Maybe something with more round like the 73 year look with 71 hide away grill. Add the 71 supper bee chin spoiler. Now for the back. Mabe for a easy change. Do something with the trunk lid to continue the lights as they did with the 69 thru 74 years. But I agree the 4 doors will still be a problem.
Jim
Jul 11, 2008 at 2:28 am
Yes, they couldn’t get the charger design right for new cars but yet everything else the others are getting right. Maybe dodge should step back and leave someone do the dang job right and make the charger how it should look. The person that design the new thing I guess didn’t know what a charger look like. Because it sure has can tell now. I would rather run the new ones right into a dang tree. The new cars looks more like a turtle then anything. They should have it the Dodge Turtle or Turtle instead of Dodge Charger.

Jul 10, 2008 at 5:17 pm
The grille does not make a difference….The design of the whole car is ridiculous..To call that a Charger…4 doors…bulkey…They might as well put the Charger emblems on a station wagon….At least the Challenger looks somewhat like the Challenger of old…But the Charger…forget it….The old charger was a big 2 door but at least it was a bit wedged and had nice body lines….This car is a box.
Cliff
Jul 10, 2008 at 12:56 pm
That… is… awesome! The current Charger looks more like a Mustang than a real Charger. This design REALLY IS what Dodge should have done. Why didn’t they? Hope this guy can pull it off! I’d love to see one in orange with an “01″ on the side! XD
Lance Diehl
Jul 10, 2008 at 7:35 am
The retro front looks great grille-wise and I like the hidden lights. A sedan is just another sedan though. Make it a hardtop and offer more practical wheels than the GOOFY dubs! Got a donut space-saver in the trunk THAT SIZE? Get for real. A four door HARDTOP is way cooler than a SEDAN anything. Two door hardtop, sportier yet. If
trucks can have 4-doors and open up to a cavernous, pillarless interior, why not cars?
Also, aren’t we sick enough of years of flush-mounted, blah taillights? The original’68 Charger had 2 small round-cluster lights on each side. They were enhanced, though with bright rings and a center spire. Cool looking, but weather and dirt were hard on them. Enhance the new cars taillights similarly behind non-yellowing clear-plastic.
Last of all, how about some small wrap-around chrome bumpers, similar to ‘63-67 Corvettes? The gigantacity of the new car “soft” bumpers offers little protection to the panels on all four corners. If done right, it will sell, shaking off some of this “new school”
junk. You DON’T want something like the last Thunderbird that as a
friend observed “It’s just like the original, but Ford left out the
ATTRACTIVE component”

Model it after the Charger 500 to keep it aero friendly while still retaining that HOT CHARGER look. I agree on refining/toning down the chin spoiler a bit too. YES YES YES!! A bolt on kit for those who have a Charger already would be a great aftermarket addition!!

I’m Pretty sure the new Challenger is chrysler’s way of making up for making the charger a 4 door and not “OLD LOOKING” enough, It’s pretty much the only old muscle car car that isn’t made to look retro, Mustang/thunderbird/camaro. I’m glad to have the retro challenger and the newer 4 door-more practical for daily life-charger than just having one/two retro muscle cars. but hell this would still be sweet to see!
The wheels and the lip, It’s almost 2010, why the hell does everything have to be old school?

should have been 2 door…
TB3Challenger
Jul 9, 2008 at 9:17 pm
It would be interesting to see if they can make a prototype of this car for real. Yeah, the Charger should’ve been a 2 door but no use crying over spilt milk. This debate happened at the new Charger’s inception. For a 4 door, the new Charger does it well.
FYI- the 1999 Dodge Charger concept was a 4 door, not a 2 door. And yes, it was a way better looking car, IMO.

it would be better with 2 doors then it look right.

Jul 9, 2008 at 8:42 pm
I think the lip is very rice, i dont like rice or “tuners”. Why put the homo wheels on muscle anyway, that just makes it look “hood”. I guess this is just the way “tuner” people f-up cars with a lip and big rims on every car they can get their hands on. If your going to go old style with the front end you need to do the whole car, what was stated by a few with loosing the 4-door, the lip, and the wheels. It needs to be burnt orange and black and have mags.
eddie
Jul 9, 2008 at 8:28 pm
it honestly looks pretty sweet! keep the grill outline color matched with paint and keep the actual grill black. the front lip should look maybe a little more subtle. wonder how this would look like with headlights and where would they go??
Anonymous

Mike

Jul 8, 2008 at 10:01 pm
I don’t like the lip – just not practical and too front-heavy. For sure, two doors and as I have been saying since the 06 Charger first came out … I wish it came with standard transmission! As for the lights/grill on this one – not a fan. Let the ‘69 keep the look that its notorious for. Personally I would not have called the new Charger a Charger – it’s a bit of an insult. I agree with Jake – the had the right idea with the new Challenger. I still love my ‘06 modified Charger though, and think it’s the nicest car on the road, regardless of what it’s called. Check out my baby … just planning on posting pics of the new rims in the next day or two …

HATE TO SAY THIS BUT YOU CAN’T MAKE A SILK PURSE OUT OF A SOW’S EAR. THEY REALLY SHOULD HAVE STUCK WITH THE 98 OR 99 CONCEPT CAR THAT WAS A TWO DOOR MUSCLE CAR. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT ONE OF THEM IN A HEART BEAT AND THIS GRILLE WOULD HAVE LOOKED GREAT ON THAT. THEY STILL HAVEN’T GOT THE WORD, EVEN THO THEY SELL A LOT OF 4 DOOR CHARGERS THAT IS NOT WHAT THE WORLD THINKS A CHARGER SHOULD BE LIKE. THE CHALLENGER IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THE CHARGER LIKE AND THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COMPETE WITH THE FORD MUSTANG.
Jai
Jul 8, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Personaly, i think the Grill is off the chain! The lip is a bit much, i think he shou;d keep it, just make it more subtle. But on the real, That looks alot better!

Jul 4, 2008 at 5:17 am
like everyones saying…loose the 2 back doors and the lip on the front
personally i think lips/kits are for ricers/tuners
im not saying i dont like tuners its just that they dont suit the muscle type vehicles
the grille tho looks amazing =)
Señor J.
Jul 4, 2008 at 3:09 am
I think he should make it, but not focus on the lip underneath the car. I prefer lower profile, rectangular floodlights/turn signals anyhow. (such as the pair sported by the Saturn Sky.) I also think he should invest in 2-door conversion kits for the Charger (hopefully with a matching pair of ‘68/’69 “coke bottle” scallops on both doors).
In truth, I’m wondering why Dodge jipped us and didn’t give us a car with a body that matched the (slightly) less snub-nosed NASCAR version. The Chrysler 300M body type effectively takes away from the Charger’s possible looks.
Anonymous
Jul 4, 2008 at 2:10 am
Make it a 2-door and put on some nice rims and it would be a hell of a car.
Nate
Jul 3, 2008 at 7:36 pm
Nice…now lose the two back doors…that’s what really ruined these new cars. Chargers weren’t meant to be 4 door sedans. Dodge has no taste these days. I just hope they keep the Challenger looking like it’s supposed to. I love the design for the retro nose though! Nice work!

If you would lose the lower chin, Add in some filp lights where the grill insert is(pulls back and Flips to show headlights). It would be like their was just a grill, but it actualy pulls back and flips a certain way to show the headlights. Then with the bottom two lights those would be the fog lights. Then maybe redo the Charger r/t badge on the grill to a more updated look. It’s just an idea i came up with in my head.
Chevyboy4
Jul 3, 2008 at 12:24 pm
I think it would be a cool kit if they lost the lower chin up front. But I could do anything to the new Charger it would be making it a 2 door like the old ones.

I agree with the others drop the chin spoiler and make it look like the 70’s, plus make a rear end piece that would go with it. Polished aluminum wheels and nothing in a spider web look. And also whats sick about it? I think it looks good!
Leojmcca
Jul 3, 2008 at 3:09 am
I really like the grille and look.
Just need to lose the lower chin spoiler and keep it flowing down with a normal front bumper.
The grille needs to remain argent and not body color.

hey i love the look of this i have a white charger myself and i would love to do this to it. if anyone wants to make the effort to make one for real let me know. on the other hand, have you only had a budget for one nice car in your family and you have kids, and still want a nice muscle car? well Im glad they made it a four door cause i have a baby on the way and Im not going to lift up my seat to get my kid out or have more than two people in my car, so i have to thank dodge for doing that but keeping enough muscle look on it. put yourself in that position. don’t get me wrong, i love the new Chalengers, but Im glad they have them kind of options.

unless you put on a rear end to match with possible side skirts…. that looks RETARDED
Rob
Jul 2, 2008 at 10:45 pm
Eh, nice idea but in personal opinion the new front end fits the new front end. It’s like fitting the square into the circle. And like Cody said, a ‘69 front end belongs on a ‘69. Redo the front, and redo everything like the new Camaro and the recent Mustangs.

Jake
Jul 2, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Yeah, it improves the looks alot, that is a mean looking mod, but it still doesn’t make the charger what it should have been. The new ones lost the status the old chargers had, putting a nice nose won’t fix that. The new challenger is the way to go instead of a charger. Personally, I’ll stick with my ‘97 TA.

that is fucking sick. the headlights automatically slide up when you turn on the car. they slide up from where it says charger r/t and the semetrical other side. i think that is how it should’ve been built. it is the best ride ive ever seen. i dont know why but i am very close to buying one and doing dat for real. ill get a 69 charger grill off ebay. ya… im gunna do it now…

damn, this looks good. a real charger front end. looks better with the plain hood than the one with the scoop. should come either chrome or paintable black like the two pics suggest. and def must get rid of the snowplow lip and just make it come in and flow with lines of the stock skirts. somebody mentioned making the lip optional which is cool too. i think this is awesome and must be built. people will def buy it.

they should have done this along time ago, like 5 minutes before they made the decision for the way it looks now, as aposed to this…

Jul 1, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Badass, should’ve definatly come stock like that.yes they put 4 doors on the charger, i know the baby boomers dont realize this(or maybe they do) but if im a parent lookin to buy my son a car and her wants muscle and i want a functional car its a great option. Sure every kid wants am mustang but it being a coupe comes higher insurance and less “family” space in the back. i think the chargers look damn good stock and could have ended up much worse cough cough avenger. and if you want muscle but not mustang, well thats why they brought back the challenger haha

honestly
i agree with tony, dodge ruined the charger image when they decided to put 2 extra doors on the new ones. like wtf were they thinking???
they musta let chev design that one cause you think they would understand the concept of the dodge charger
and all i know is that if he makes this conversion. i would talk to daimler chrysler and see if you can get it from factory as an option
call it “the real dodge charger conversion”

It would be an big improvement but it is still a big 4 door luxury type of car lets see them fix that lol j/k does look good though just dont make the front spoiler on it make it an extra bolt on so people have a choice

Front end makes the stock Charger look much meaner. Bottom lip needs to come back so as to not look to unbalanced. My wife sees one of tehse kits and my goal of upping to a Challenger likely shot down by just kitting our Charger, but i’d be okay with it. Do us hopefuls a favor and post again if the guy actually starts making these.
and where do you guys manage to find all this stuff?

If it had the fastback roof it would be cool but the nose and the roof line just don’t do it for me. But with the roof from a 69, and a longer trunk and it would be a really sweet ride.

If you think that looks good, just close your eyes and imagine it in as a widebody. And now go clean yourself up.

I like it! Any car that pays homage to the older classics that made them what they are, are great in my book! I know some of you don’t agree, but I get so bored with the cookie cutter sedans out there, I am happy Dodge has done something different.

I know in 71, 07 and 08, the Super Bee was on the Charger body. It looks good. I think it would look better it you went back to Super Bee roots and use some ‘69 or ‘70 designs like the grills, tail light designs and side scoops. Just my 2 cents.
