I went to Vancouver for the 11th annual BC CRX meet/cruise (thanks EDAP for hosting/organizing it)!… and crazily enough (in regards to the original post of this “what did you do this weekend”), I spotted a ford touring (not the sedan type) at a bar in agassiz while having a beer and took a picture!.. It was pretty… and black!

I “worked” out at Mid-Ohio Sports Car course. If you call sitting in the grandstands passing out programs in between watching the races working. This was the SVRA weekend so I got a ton of pictures of classic cars and vintage race cars. I even got a great pic of our truck parked next to a beautiful Lotus. Unfortunately I could not get everyone that was there, Saturday afternoon brought a heavy thunderstorm which forced most of the cars under shelter before I got there. Sunday had some good racing until another torrential downpour came through and stopped the racing for the day. The wet track made for some exciting, if a bit nerve racking racing. I witnessed a couple Mil worth of classic cars slide off of the track at the end of the long straight. One of my favorite pics has to be of 2 Triumphs (might have been MG) sitting in the rain with water up to their rims. We downloaded the pics onto my computer last night and I am hoping to have them on my ride page starting tonight.

I took pics of my completed (essentially completed) Firebird Convertible.

I got a 79 in a 65 speeding ticked southbound I-95 in the express lanes below DC yeah… in Virginia. Gonna fight the 14 over and see if I can get it reduced to 9 over or something like that. Anyone with similar experience, please drop me a line.

Mother-in-law had an accident at the same time heading northbound (we were to meet at Roanoke Rapids, NC. Fortunately she maintained control of her minivan. My whole family was in that van. Damage only tire-on-body scrub and minor denting, fortunately.

Oh and learned that I could avoid Baltimore, DC and even Fredericksburg… all the crap and tolls by travelling 301 and 207. Sound too good to be true, to actually have a way around the depths of hell…

Damn…I got the privilege of helping my 4 month old with the sniffles and staring at my car being rained on and thinking how much longer the grass was going to grow!
Maybe one of these days it will stop raining long enough and I can finish working on my car…or wax it. I think Kentucky is the new Seattle.
