Donkalicious Cutlass Doesn't Get One Single Bid!
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
This ‘72 Olds Cutlass convertible has been pretty meticulously restored, with a rebuilt 455, 12-bolt posi rear end, killer audio system, and custom paint. Oh yeah, and the guy also slapped some 24’s on it and made it a donk. But with an opening bid of $25,000, this auction ended with no takers. So what does this mean? Is the economy really that bad? Was it because the seller’s asking price was too high for any Cutlass convertible, or has the whole donk thing totally crested?

Nomad82 seems to have since. Another thing I will clear up for those who are reading these stupid articles is that Donks, Boxes, and Bubbles are refering to Impala or Caprices ONLY. They don’t refer to Monte Carlos, Crown Vics, Cutlass or anyother cars. ITS FOR CHEVROLET IMPALAS OR CAPRICES ONLY !!! Donks are 1971-1976 Impala/Caprices, Boxes are 1977-1990 Impala/Caprices, and Bubbles are 1991-1996 Impala/Caprices. Boxes refering to Box CHEVY, thats why they called box chevy. Like I said in my other post people that don’t know how this originated from southern dopeboys because like I said they wouldn’t even have the balls to walk around the neighborhoods these cars originated. Just cause a car is box shaped or bubble shaped does NOT make it a box or bubble. Has to be a Chevy impala or caprice. I can tell who really knows this game and who doesnt because I have been exposed to these cars for YEARS and I build them.

W is right. i read that artcle and it had a lot of false statements just like how you can tell donk box and bubble is written buy people from new york. Im from the midwest and i know the south is on the cuttng edge of the seen and they push there cars farther faster and we in the midwest take the cues and put our own touch on it. but i have to say that we have been riding big rims for a while i had a 79 impala on 22’s the summer of 01 before 4’s even came out. we just were late to take it up a notch like the south did

i personally dont like donks or bubbles or whatever their called but thats just me just like some people dont like lowriders big lifted trucks or imports i dont see why people are making such a big deal about it or making it a race issue i know people that arent white that like to go mudriding nd i know people that arent black that like old cars on big wheels it just goes from personal taste for cars nd trucks

Also cutlass have been part of the hi-riser scene since day one. its not as common as a caprice or impala but has been there since day one. when you think of a drag strip chevy you probably think of a chevelle or a camaro but people bulid malibus, novas, even corvettes (which think is rather awesome). I respect if you dont like the style or the car used for the stlye but dont say its ruined because its different than what you would have done or what it was meant for.
because then that means you hate drag deisel trucks or or any sports car turned into a drag car (pretty much all late model corvettes mustangs and camaros) or grocery getters turned into tuners (including all bmws except M’s and most hondas a toyota’s). you probably hate any car not stock right? i mean whats the difference?
a mods a mod right?

Just because yall see these magazines doesn’t mean every bit of info that they use is right. They didn’t originate this game this stuff started in the streets and I wish it would have stayed there cause its a LOT of people that don’t know what they are talking about. You really think these people who write these articles hang in the hoods where this originated? I bet any amount of money the idiots who write all these articles about these cars would be scared to step foot in the hoods these car originated in. These cars started being built by southern/country dopeboys. Thats how it started. Not for these lame “carshows”. Its a STREET thing. It just so happened sites like east coast ryders, and cardomain have showed the world what we are doing in the south now everyone wants to copy and get stuff WRONG. Thats why I laugh at fools that constantly say donk and other stuff wrong because it just lets me know that yall are looking and commenting on stuff you have obviously never been exposed to and have no clue about. You are basically bandwagon fans of this stuff and need to go look at some honda civics or some crap like that cause this started in the streets and its not for YOU.

Why do have to stereotype blacks about the donks, boxes, and bubbles? I’m black and to be perfectly honest I’m not into those types of cars I’m into the old schools like 1960s Mustangs, Chargers and Challengers, GTOs etc. true muscle cars, but I rather see the big wheels put on a truck or suv, but back to the topic don’t get me wrong its a nice car but the guy want too much for an opening bid if you ask me.

Tyler, YOU ARE WRONG just like that article. This miss using of the term “donk” is simply people like YOU who have no clue how these cars ended up becoming so popular anyways. I am from Georgia which has been building donks FOREVER. Anyone from Georgia or Florida knows that putting old school on huge wheels started in the south. We have BEEN putting cars on these rims since 2002. THIS HAS BEEN OUT !!! The only reason people like you even know about it is from this site, east coast ryders dvds, and magazines that get half of the info WRONG about these cars. I have been exposed to Donks since I was a child. Guys always been building donks and compete against eachother for braggin rights in their respective city. Who has the loudest music, best rims, wettest candy, nicest interior, and best engines all play a factor who has the best car. This is a tradition in the south. A donk is a 71-76 impala or caprice, term originated in Florida YEARS YEARS AND YEARS before big rims EVEN was invented you idiot. People have been saying donk since the 80s. The reason its being said wrong now is because people that don’t know this game noticed donks(the most popular car in this game) on big wheels and noticed we called that particular car a donk. Then with them being dumb they referred to every car they saw on big wheels as a donk which is WRONG. A cutlass is not a donk, its a cutlass. A monte carlo is not a donk, its a g-body cause that article you linked was WRONG too just like you. People like you make me wish cardomain, east coast ryders never happened. Or any other people that don’t know how this started and didnt see it originate didn’t have access to ruin our game.

The race thing is so stupid. I love hi-risers and i read a lot of the comments here on cardomain and other places like youtube. and there is always some racist idiot say how the car is a black fad and there for is ignorant. first off even though a majority of hi-rise owners are black doesn’t mean all are. for example im from indianapolis and when Donk,Box,and Bubble came to indy for the midwest shoot all the guys featured in the mag where white (i know them from there car club. The guy that owns midweststreetryders is white and has a donk on 28’s. there is a guy on cardomain that is japanese and lives in tokyo that has a monte on 27’s. if you where a true car guy you would see the work and creativity that goes into these cars and respect that. I would never build a drag car but i watch pinks to see what kinda of cars and mods the guys are doing. i love the imports but would never buy or build one but i respect the work put into them. please get off the race thing and focus on the topic or just dont post. thats a thought huh

The main topic here, is the car not selling. It probably didn’t sell for a number of reasons; one the car is already built for someone else tastes, two someone could have built this car themselves for a significantly lower pricetag, three someone with the money for this might have just wanted to spend that money somewhere else. The lifted cars on big rims is a fad that is more than likely here to stay. I personally love them, and I know whites, blacks, asians and hispanics who own lifted cars on 22in. or bigger wheels. I also know a variety of races who own lifted 4wd trucks, lowriders, tuners, and bagged trucks. My personal truck is an 03 silverado that lays flat on the ground. My brother and I are restoring an old Buick coupe that we will lift and mount 24in. wheels on, my next project truck is looking like a sky scraping 4wd dually. I am mexican, ur race does not determine what kind of vehicle you must drive. To think so is very ignorant, and all the racist comments posted on here are off-topic, and displaying your ignorance to the whole cardomain community. The only people who are reading that and agreeing are as, if not more low class than your self. I love all kinds of cars. Check me out I’m in the top ten in silverados overall, gogetta71.

To be honest I think it’s stupid putting massive rims on a muscle car like this. It’s a complete waste of money. Keep a muscle car mucsle not a donk. Whoever would build one of these is completely stupid and I don’t care who disagrees with me, cause they too are stupid.

I think the original point of this whole donk, box & bubble thing was to take a relatively inexpensive GM car and make something bold out of it. Of course as trends catch on people push the envelope and rather than taking a fairly cheap (example) ‘73 Impala, they are doing the same to things like these Cutlass’ which are a little more sought-after. If the only “donks” on the planet were Impala’s & Caprices it would get old fast and it’s nice to see someone brave enough to do this to a Cutlass of this year & model. And like Derrick said, bringing it back to stock height isn’t the end of the world and then your still left with a restored classic with a killer sound system. Then again I live in Canada where any car will cost at least 15% more than they do in the states which is why we keep running down there to steal your classics, so $25 000 doesn’t sound outrageous to me, just not a smart way to start the bid. By the way I’m white and I love this car! Then again I also love Bobby Womack and fried chicken, so sue me!

There was a guy (or girl, but most likely a piece of white trash guy)that only posted one word: “niggers”. Notice that the racist didn’t have the balls to put the link to his page or even his name. Why do SOME people automatically assume that a ride like this is owned by a black guy anyhow? I’m white and I like how they look. No, I wouldn’t drive one, but I love to see how far people can go with things like this. I think they look great, it’s just not my style. If the rims are all that stopped people from wanting this car, it’s not too hard to remove the lift, and change the wheels.
It pisses me off to see people calling other’s cars ugly, or making racist comments about people because of what kind of car they choose to own. Isn’t variety what Car Domain is all about? I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m not here to prove my cars are better than your’s. I know they’re not, and probably never will be. I’m here because Car Domain is about having a variety of different rides to admire from lowriders to donks to trucks to ricers. Who gives a shit who drives em, or who built em. If you don’t like em don’t look at em.
Notice the link to my page IS active because unlike the pussy that posted “niggers” I welcome anyone who don’t like my opinion to come leave me a message. I welcome and respect ALL opinions, but keep the racist bullshit to yourselves.

Hey W you make your self look like a damn moron. Your definition of DONK is way off. A donk is: Mid-’70s Impala, Caprice and Monte Carlo or any mid-’70s ride with a sloping tail.
A box is:
Mid-’80s Impala, Caprice and Monte Carlo or any mid-’80s ride with a boxy rear clip
A bubble is:
’90s Caprices and Impalas, ’90s rides that are rounded on both ends
So before you go and post thinking you know something you dont and make your self look dumb. Do some research. This was all taken from:
http://www.cardomain.com/features/donks
BTW that thing is a perfectly good car that was ruined by some idiot just because he thinks chrome is cool.

You people will never understand what a donk is will you? People that don’t know this genre of cars try to say this and that about them and use the term donk WRONG once again. For the record, a donk is a 1971-1976 Chevrolet Impala or Caprice 2 door, 4 door, 4 door wagon, or convertible. You are making yourselves look and sound stupid by calling any car with big rims a donk. There are a lot of negative comments about that car coming from people I bet can’t even afford to do something like that to a car so just stop it.

The problem is probably that eBay users are looking for deals. They might have paid $25 000 in the end, but if you start the auction at $25 000; which could be a fair price for this car, it’s easy to assume bidders won’t stop there and the price will get driven up even further to a point where the car just isn’t worth it. And WOW, I’m glad I missed whatever racist comments must have been made. Let me tell everyone something, when something becomes popular everyone wants to take credit for it and start saying who can do what with their cars, “oh your not from the south” “oh those are black-people cars”… it doesn’t matter if your driving a “donk” in Miami or Russia, I think it is a very, very cool trend because it’s so out of the box.. haha get it? box? no? As far as what defines a donk… who cares? Anyone who’s built a donk isn’t going to rag on a Cutlass like this.

Jul 6, 2008 at 8:24 am
This is stupid. Just like Jay said, you need to know what a Donk is before you make a statement like that. A Cutlass is not a DONK! For all the racist whites, the way people fix up their cars is a practice based on cultural demographics (I hope I didn’t lose you there). It’s a medium that brings car lovers together from city to city. Big rims doesn’t make the car “a nigger car”. I have white guys hitting me up every day on my site asking me for tips on how to get their Cutlass to look like mine. Texas, Miami, California, Mid west, ATL are a few areas that have totally different styles, and they all have one thing in common….originality.
All-in-all, big rims or not, he was asking too much for the car.

I seen the picture and read the caption and instantly knew what most most of the posts and comments would say… I also knew what the entire dicussion would be about. “the guy also slapped some 24’s on it and made it a donk”
I can’t believe I just read that.
Can we please get a retraction/correction?
A donk is a 1971-1976 Chevrolet Impala/Caprice. Nothing more. Nothing less. It doesn’t matter if its sitting on 13s, stocks or 30s. Kandy paint, stock paint, no paint. A donk is a donk.
You don’t ‘make it a donk’. It just is a donk, or it isn’t.

Dominick, you are way out of line, just because all you seen were Blacks driving, does not mean they are the only ones that drive them. The same was said about lowriders back in the 70’s that only Hispanics and Blacks drive these cars, so they do not deserve any respect in the car customizing world. Then one day at the San Bernardino Orange Show in 79 a White guy won the hopping contest at 54″, so never state that only certain people drive a type of car. I’ve seen all types in every part of the auto world.
If I had your view of life I could say that Blacks are better race drivers and use the last years F1 champ and current leader. Or for all you PINKS fans, say that Blacks build better street rods, for the winning car was owned by a Black guy that let his White friend drive it. So just stay on topic and leave your small minded view of the world at home and let the rest of use think you evolved.

From the last 10 or so posting, this topic has gone way off the mark and down the under lining issue of culture/race. Which is very sad to say, those who call themselves motorheads/gear heads, look at this for what it is, a CAR. Not who they think drives it or promotes its style, but the pure effort of expressing ones vison.

First of all for somebody to say that only AFRICANS people only drive these kinds of cars and they don’t go on ebay is ignorant.Second that car isn’t a donk.I’m tired of people thinking any old school or car with big rims is a donk because is isn’t.I’m from MIAMI where the whole donk game originated.A “DONK” is a chevrolet caprice or impala between the years of 71-76,2 door or 4 door.A “BOX” is a caprice or impala between the years of 77-90,2 door or 4 door.A “BUBBLE” is a caprice between the years of 91-96 to set the record straight.

Y’all missed the point….Why did it fail on Ebay?
If you like the body enough to own the car then you can sell the rims for bank and do your own thing to it….Or if you like the Donk package then go with it…
It doesn’t matter why it was built the way it was!
This is supposed to be an Auto Enthusiast Web Site. Not the Haters Club of Auto Snobs.
The Ebay sale more than likely failed due to a reserve that was too high, or the practicality of buying a large gas guzzler with fuel prices that are cost prohibitive.
Of course with most of the ignorant comments posted here, most prospective buyers couldn’t see past something they don’t like and have no imagination to change it…

Hi-Risers do serve a purpose, just like every other trend in automobiles, to stand out in the crowd, and be different.
My ‘73 Olds 88 Convert, serves a triple purpose, aside from getting me from a to b, and being flashy, it will soon tow my trailer to car show’s. I’ve converted it to 4wd. It has hand built frame. Built for towing 455, th400, and 2 dana 60’s. With a set of Giovanna Caracas in 30inch. It will soon have black paint with loads of silver flake. Black leather and black snake skin interior, with a black snake skind top (waterproofed of course). Nice stereo nothing crazy, 2 15’s maybe. And then there are the power running boards, 15 inch drop hitch. Trailer with matching 25 inch Giovannas and a mahogany deck, and matching paint.
Oh and for who ever said they riced that cut, your a DUMB F***ER. I need to get back to wrenching on my baby now, which isn’t even considered a DONK but does share the same body style.

This is a beautiful car. The big wheels are rediculous. If the vato would put on some 13×7 Daytons with little white walls and 16 switches then maybe someone would step up to bid. Even with a muscle car set up with staggered wheels would do this fine car justice. Those wheels belong on a Yukon or something.

What’s da ride like on a HighRiser? I would like to know.
Personally i think it’s kind of a stupid idea given the fact that u got to be pretty taking most of the performance out of the car by turning it into a skyjacker for the sake of cramming huge by large rims in the wheelwells. i would rather leave the car at factory height(or lower it) and put rims/tires that FIT the wheelswells and then hang 30 inch rims of the side of it. Seems to make more sense to do that way…

Ok Mr.Dray Crawford, I see you TRIED to do your homework. But let me school you right quick being that I’m from the city and state that started this whole HI-RISER craz off(Miami,Fl). A DONK is a chevy caprice or impala between 1971-1976. A BOX is a caprice or impala between 1977-1990. A BUBBLE is a caprice or impala between 1991-1999. Oh yeah, not all 70’s model chevys are glass house. That refers to the chevy caprice or impala(2 door to be exact) between 1974-1976. Ask any TRUE lowrider fan and they will tell you that. So to all you guys who are riding in Regals,Cutlass,Gran Prixs and anything other then a 1971-1976 chevy caprice or impala…..IT’S NOT A DONK!! Thanks for trying Dray!!

the car could go for 25 but even though it has some nice parts it looks to be a lil slopped together especially the interior. and nobody is gonna wanna pay 25 grand for a car they have to do work on

I checked the car out and iy look’s like he just needs to condition the chrome, dress up the engine compartment, re-do the whole interior(cause the deck and monitors don’t fit flush and look kinda sloppy), and that’s about it from what I saw! From there he cuold prolly get 13-16,000 for that cutty!

Couldn’t get a single bid on it heh? wonder if the detailed engine compartment, the lifting of the car to accomodate the wheels, units on the headrest or the nicely detailed dash had anything to do with that?…..I’m only asking…..LOL

what some of you people fail to realize is that this guy didnt build a car for you or for me, it built it to satisfy himself so in his eyes yes it maybe fawless and worth 25k, for some of us not so much. myself personally i work at a custom body shop so i see stuff like this on a weekly basis so i can nit pick it so i dont thik its worth 25k maybe 10 to 20k but on the other question the “Skyscrapper” trend isnt going anywhere, its just most of us dont see them they are mainly found in big southern cities i.e. Atlanta,Miami, New Orleans ect. in my town of 25k people in Russelville,Ar there are only 4 Skyscrappers so one of the main reasons people dont like them is because they havent seen one built to their style the bottom line is you may see it as pointless and ignorant but you cant ignore all the hard work, time and money that went on to build it and judging for the work done to the cutlass i have respect for him

Now back in my day (lowrider) in the 70’s the Caprice was known as a glass house due to the large rear and side windows

Here you go Jay, an address for the DONKs BOX & BUBBLE CARS
http://www.rides-mag.com/DONK/cars/volume2/cars.html
And they have 2 Cutless’ on the site, but they don’t say if its a Donk, Box or Bubble, so the term Donk can be use to cover these types of vehicles.

Believe me I know the pain of being missed labled, my ride is a American sport sedan, but when I go to shows, its labled a import tuner (made in America) lol

Sorry Jay, I think you missed spoke:
Hi-Riser (automobile) – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hi-Risers are a type of highly customized automobile , and typically an inexpensive American -built sedan modified by significantly increasing the ground clearance and adding large-diameter wheels with low-profile tires. Depending on the model and build year, autos customized in this manner can be labeled ” donk ,” ” box ,” or ” bubble
Not to say Wikipedia is the all knowing, but it gives the common use of the word and what it defines.

i can tell you why this car looks like crap i work at an upholstery shop the reason that car aint gonna sell is b/c he didnt want to put any money or time into it they were too worried about gettin those ugly rims and shiny paint job to take the time to detail any little things like taking to dash out and ordoring a new one they had it sew and painted you can tell the car wasnt gutted to paint the dash b/c of the orange peel on it, it has potential but i wouldnt give no more but 10 for it and thats for changing everything to electric and it has an a/c but it aint fuel injected and its no where ready for show its like a wanna be all original with a custom touch the only way to get 25g-80g is to go with ls6 motors and everything electrick with custom fiberglass everything i mean this car jus aint worth it

Ok,here I go again. This goes out to ALL the editors and readers of car mags, blogs and etc. Sighing….Everything sitting on big rims IS NOT A DONK!!! The word DONK applies to specific years of the chevy CAPRICE and IMPALA model. Those years being from 1971 to 1976. It makes my blood boil when I hear people refer to this new wave of customizing as the DONK CRAZ! It only tells me that they don’t have a clue about what they’re talking about. Editors included! Before you write an article or leave a blog comment….please do your homework first!
what!
Jul 5, 2008 at 12:49 am
the rims are ugly and too big…i can see it starting bid at 10-15K but 25 c’mon get outta here.

I have to agree with Dray that its in the eye of the beholder, but to expect to pull in that kinda cash on thise ride in its current for would be far outragous. & to the donk craze that what peole are for butchering a sweet ride like this crazy!!! This car could have been sweet.

Seroiusly!! I didn’t like it when people would put put mustang II body on a 4×4.. (and I am not a real fan of the mustang II). So, it really is disheartening to see a fine car be turned into a skateboard.

I just took a closer look at the pictures and it would be best a 10K car for the only reason being its age (1972). The engine was a big disappointment, with hit and miss mod’s. Looked like a Holley 650/750 dual pumper, the manifold looked dirty along with the rest of the engine bay area. For 25K I need to be able see myself in all the chrome and briaded lines that should be on this type of ride.

Shawn, clam down partner, its all in the eye of the beholder, and many of us here do not behold it. Like I said about lowriders (oldschool one myself) it may take 30 years for the Donk to gain real respect in the custom auto industry. Now for the this ride he would get a better chance if it had tucked 18″s rims that had 4″ lip and lowered. The olds 442 is a pure power machine and is a collectors type car, but not in this customize form. If it was fully restored to stock it would bring 20-30K easy.

this ride going for 25G’s??? depends on the paint if it’s like HOUSE OF KOLOR quality paint then possibly a little over Ten g’s (including the bodywork, redipped chrome pieces), the interior street custom??? RIMs 24’s 26’s or 28′, I think 26’s are standards not 24’s paying a little over 3 g’s for those rims??? Asanti, Lexani,Forgiato?? last but not least.. If the engine ain’t got an ounce of chrome, or its got some extra HP then I’ll consider the extra cost…… then don’t even say 25g’s

That guys work was really shitty. The dash looked like a 6 year old painted and the motor looked like nothing was touched on it.

I would buy it for 25,001 and sell the wheels for 2501. then I would spend the 2501 on performance parts/ cleaning up that intake manifold.

Call me a wannabe thug, gangsta whatever, but I like donks. They’re like a modern twist on the lowrider. I think they look cool, and provided you keep them nice and neat like this one, they’re awesome.
If I was in America, I’d certainly buy one for this price.

yall really dont know what yall talking about, i see people saying how donk lovers are in the same class with the monster truck enthusiast, and how these cars appeal to “human trash of the American ghetto”, man get a fu_king life with that sh_t…what do you say about the people who get their little rice cars(hondas, acuras, nissans) and pump stupid amounts of money into their rides?…i bet if this was a piece of shit “fast and the furious” mock-up yous bastards won’t be sayin this shit…i love donks, i may not prefer them with 30inch rims but to each is own…dam with that out the way, to answer this initial question as to what was the problem with this person trying to sell this car, 25k is way too much for this ride, considering all the possible customization he may have put in, it just doesn’t seem like a great buy, now if it had full show car quality, i.e: digital dash, fiber glassed dash board, t.v in dash, and maybe 15 speakers placed throughout the interior then maybe it would be worth it, maybe…

put some 16s or 17s on it and some monster meats on the back and it would sell for more
Dray Crawford
Jul 4, 2008 at 6:37 pm
A donk appeals to a small group of people, in which many are not collectors of auto’s. Just as with Monster trucks, these type of vehicle are mainly appreciated by thier own owners and small group of friends. The same can be said about lowriders, but it took 30 years for them to be put into the classifcation of custom rides to all to recogonize them. You can thank the SUV craze for the donks, if you can’t be one dress like one.

I guess he priced the wheels more than he did the car itself. Had those wheels and ride height been stock, and with all those mods in it, we wouldn’t have any Cutlass to talk about here now.
Stevo
Jul 4, 2008 at 8:10 am
Yeah it wud look a lot better stock height and some smaller rims like 18’s or something! but everything else looks nice and a clean.
John Gelnett
Jul 3, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Ugh!! What a way to ruin the looks of an otherwise decent car. Put it to stock height, or maybe a little lower, and it will have a better chance of selling. And cleaning up the engine bay would help too. He’s probably running stock brakes on those big wheels too, like some of these dumb bastards where I’m from.

I’m sure it would have gotten a bid if it had normal sized wheels and a lower suspension that rode like something other than shit. I’ve stopped trying to understand these things now, i just think idiot and go on with my day.

donks are the most idiotic car customization trend…. ever.
Mike
Jul 2, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Nobody bid on it because it’s crap! I can’t understand why anyone would want one of these things. The engine bay looks like crap & the system looks even worse.
Jakeb
Jul 2, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Perhaps it did not sell due to the fact that it looks liable to tip over if taking a corner over 5mph… normal tires/rims and it would be golden.

The first area I work on ANY car, is cleaning up the engine bay.
.
The engine bay is unremarkable at best on this car…
.
I’m not in to the whole “donk” thing, it’s just not my taste,
but if you are gonna try to sell a ‘72 Olds, you had better at
least do a proper cleaning and a nice paint detail to the engine
compartment.
.
He’s got a lot more than 25K invested, but he’s got a lot more
to do to get a serious “car guy” interested.
i_luv_dusty
Jul 2, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Well, let’s see here. A lot of people would like that car, if it wasn’t lifted and sitting on 24″ of bling $#*|7. Add on the price of a new set of normal-looking rims and lowering the suspension so the car has less ground clearance than a Hummer H2, and you’re tacking on $5,000 to the price tag to get a normal, nicely-restored classic.
