Making of Batman’s “Tumbler”

By John Coyle

Of all the movies coming out this summer, The Dark Knight is the one I’m most excited about. Heath Ledger—rest in peace—looks great as the Joker, and I think director Christopher Nolan knows exactly how to handle the material. Anyway, this clip about the making of the Tumbler—the new Batmobile—was going around the office the other day, and while I think the editing is a little scatterbrained, it’s still interesting. How cool is it that the new Batmobile is actually a burly tank, and not just a set piece?

A lot of people don’t like the Tumbler.
.
I, for one, love it.
.
The damn thing actually works!
.
.
I like the Burton Batmobile too, but they used lots of model shots,
and the car was just a fiberglass frame on a chassis. No where
near the quality and and not as complex as the Tumbler.
.
If one had a Tumbler, he could take it out for a real drive :)
.
I would if I had the chance!
