New Challenger R/T Spotted In The Wild
By Danny
aka Dboy23
Driving around up here in Michigan, I spotted what looked to be a white Mustang and a white Challenger racing up in my rearview. Since I’ve never seen a white Challenger up close I throttled back to let it catch up, and as it got closer I noticed that the rims were similar to those on the Daytona Charger, not the SRT. When it pulled up to the next light I saw the stripes and realized it was the R/T version, the middle-child Challenger with the 5.7L Hemi (as opposed to the SRT’s 6.1), priced at around $30K. The ‘09 R/T’s must be available to the public now, because the driver was just an ordinary guy listening to music—no sign of Dodge test computers or anything!

The car is likely a “fast feedback” car as they are not available to the public yet. Chrysler will make available certain numbers of cars ahead of launch to employees to sort of any final bugs and try and ensure a good launch.
