Yellow Cars: Do They Suck?

For the record, I don’t think they do, and when I bought the only new vehicle I’ve ever owned, it was canary yellow. But in spite of my pro-yellow stance, I still found the Yellow Cars Suck post on JediMonkeys way funny. Basically, the author took the first page of google results for "yellow car" and made snide comments about all the images, and it’s just as juvenile as it sounds. Check out the description of the photo below: "Some loon tied a monkey to this stupid yellow car, and even a monkey knows how dumb it is. Look at the monkey’s posture—he’s clearly trying to get off this pathetic excuse for a car." Now, I might have just huffed a little too much paint this morning, but that made me laugh. What do you think about yellow cars? More hater food over at JediMonkeys.

but i do have to say that the yellow has to be the perfect yellow, because faded yellow is not at all pleasing, and other yellows start to look awkward and taxi like.

I’ve got a yellow Focus, -Sis has a yellow Mustang GT, and my dad had a yellow Hurst 442.

Love yellow on certain cars (Esp. Ferrari 355s) others just look like taxis – but on the right car, it just makes you smile and brightens your day.

The car has to have personality to pull it off.

I like certain colors for certain cars…

Yellow is a great color on a street rod, with lots and lots of chrome…

Yellow on my RoadMonster would only make it look like a Taxi…

Lately, my favorite all around color on just about any car is SILVER…

depends on the car. NOT a dirt-friendly color. NOT a color that forgives even the slightest damage or wear. A Yellow has to be nearly perfect in condition, or else it very quickly becomes a yellow POS to virtually all observers.

I have always liked Canary Yellow cars especially on the 1969 Camaro SS that I bought when I first came to California and then on my 72 Vette. What I didn’t like about that color was it attracts bees. I used to own a canary yellow tow truck and there was always bees flying in and around it.

I think yellow cars are pretty cool. I prefer basic black though.

It really just depends on the car. Like 00-05 Cavaliers look great in yellow, Corvettes, Hummers, FJ Cruisers, Porsches, any pretty much any exotic do as well.
