So You Knew Lamborghini Started With Tractors…

And that’s good. Because, like, everyone knows that. But seriously, did you know Lamborghini made engines for racing boats? Because I didn’t. Not until I talked with some of the good folks from Lamborghini Bellevue yesterday. The eight-liter V12s the company made apparently kicked serious ass—like that’s a surprise—and are absolutely gorgeous to boot. Check out some classic pics after the jump, and make sure to read this cool post on the history of swimming Lambos.

Well, I did not know that myself but I guess they did. They also make engines for racing boats too, I didn t know that either. I m gonna have to re-educate myself about Italian engineering I guess.

Awesome engines,
Love watching the boat races. It’d be great to see these in the water.

Those are some scary boats. The noise they create is just epic. I love watching their races in the rare times they show them on TV. I love that paint on the yellow one. Ever seen one catch air? Brutal, just brutal.
The best boat I ever had the priveledge to pilot was my uncle ski boat that had a Corvette V-8 in it. That thing would literally lift the front end out of the water if you went to full throttle from a dead stop. (my little brother did this on ‘accident’ and almost dumped my dad into the lake) So I cannot even imagine what it is like to pilot these monsters out on the open ocean.
