Killer Video of Peugeot 405 T16 Climbing Pikes Peak
By John Coyle
Editor
There are a lot of videos of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb floating around on the web, but the Peugeot-produced Climb Dance is the best one I found. The combination of perspectives—I love the overhead shots—gives you a real sense of how difficult and treacherous this twisty 12.4 mile course is. Just watch the driver’s hands as he wrestles the car through the turns! I’m getting ready to head to the airport right now, but I’ll be in Colorado Springs by early afternoon. Stay tuned for full coverage from America’s Mountain!

Man behind the wheel is Ari Vatanen, a politician and member of the European Parliament. Oh, and ex-rally driver too. Wikipedia entry has that Pug also pictured.

I’ve watched that video before but even so, it makes me tense every time. It’s fun to see a purpose built car in an environment that really makes use of everything it’s got!

The vid has cinematics galore. Nice to watch, but there is an element of time and fact missing. I saw the monser suzuki in action video, and of course written the suzuki monster is faster..yet in real video, it appears slower than the peugeot in climb dance. A shameful epiphany? no. I am into the videography. It is nice to watch, not for reality. and further in reality…those drivelines are terrbible. Absolutely terrible. Crazier than the audi quattros of the day..almost.
